Summary: We had a wonderful time at this property. There was nothing that was catered for or available. The outside area around the pool was so luxurious and the views of the quiet countryside and distant mountains are absolutely stunning and will stay in our memories for ever. The house is nicely laid out, with the kitchen and dining area particularly nice. Ralph is such a lovely fellow - super cheery and helpful. He met us close to the property and escorted us the final few miles to the property which made it much easier to find. The property is perfectly located in sleepy countryside for a restful and quiet stay, while being close enough for day trips to Pompeii, Herculaneum and Baia. Overall, just what we wanted and highly recommended.

Summary: Trouble free, from arrival to departing. Comfortable, extremely clean, exactly as stated in the description. Ralf was a good host and available to us with any questions we might have. We were a part of six adults and one child but we we had our own privacy, plenty of indoor and outdoor space. Thank you Ralf for letting us stay.

Summary: On arrival in italy the owner met us not far from the villa and guided us to the door. First impressions were wow and these didn’t fade. The villa was spotlessly clean and had everything needed to make our stay home from home. The owner couldn’t do enough for us and made us feel very welcome giving advice on local festivals, restaurants and sightseeing. The views were stunning and it was always a relief to come back to the peace and quiet of the villa after long days out and about. Would definitely return and would recommend to anyone wanting to experience Italy untouched by tourists but within easy reach of all the main attractions.

Summary: If you are looking for a lively, bustling holiday, this villa is not for you. If you want chill, relaxation and a taste of the real Italy then this will be your idea of paradise. The villa is of a very high standard and the scenery is idealic. You will never get bored watching the view from the pool. The on-line photos do not do the villa justice. The real thing is far better. The days at this time of year (July) are very warm but the temp drops about ten degrees in the evenings, making it very comfortable through the night. The local town of Montifalcioni is typical Italy and the villa is in easy reach of other, busy and beatiful towns such as Benevento and Caserta, for some night life and shopping, but still in the Italian way. You are an hour from Pompeii, the Amalie Coast and even less from Napoli. If you are fortunate enough to have Ralph, the owner in the country at the time of your break you will find him kean and eager to help you in every way he can. We could write a book about the reasons for coming here. You just need to try it. Iain, Kaz and family.

Summary: We have just returned from a wonderful stay at this villa. The villa is lovely, clean, tidy and more well equipped than our own home! The owner, Ralph, met us en route and showed us to the villa which was really helpful. He showed us around and even provided a very generous food pack to get us through until the shops opened the next day. Everything has been thought of in this villa from kitchen supplies to towels, toiletries, games and (so many) books! All of the bedrooms have fans and we found it very comfortable at night. Location is ideal for exploring, in a week we managed to see Pompeii, Herculaneum, Sorrento, Salerno, the Amalfi Coast and the temples at Paestum. Ralph was a super host and was contactable throughout our stay, offering welcome suggestions and advice on places to see. He even fixed a scratch on our hire car for us before we left! Perfect villa, perfect holiday! Can't recommend this place enough!

Summary: We've just returned from a fantastic holiday based at the Villa Montevista in Montefalcione. The owner, Ralph met us just outside of town, took us to the villa & explained everything about the property. He was really friendly, helpful & easy to contact by text throughout our stay, and being “a local” was also able to give us some good tips about visiting places of interest nearby including local markets (Montefalcione on a Monday morning is a must). Ralph had also provided us with a “welcome food pack” with the basics to get us started – very useful. The villa sits perched on the side of a hill with views over the surrounding countryside that you could never tire of - absolutely stunning! An added bonus is the western looking aspect so the sunsets are also spectacular. The villa was beautiful, in excellent condition, well decorated, well-appointed and very spacious with plenty of room for our family of five. It has all of the facilities a family would need, including some inflatables for the pool for the kids (young & old). The patio area with the swimming pool was great with lots of space, sunbeds, an outdoor dining table & a lovely pool – well used by the whole family. We cooked & ate at the villa a couple of times, plenty of pots & pans etc, but the icing on the cake was sitting outside, eating at the patio table & watching the sun setting over the mountains in the West – really beautiful. We used the villa primarily as a base to visit all of the main sights: Pompeii, Herculaneum, Vesuvius, Sorrento, Capri, the Amalfi Coast, Ravello (our favourite) and Naples as well as some of the local towns: Montefalcione, Grottaminarda (fantastic cake shop), Marabella & Benevento. All were in easy reach with nowhere more than an hour and a half away. Driving is relatively easy but be prepared for some scary moments if you venture along the Amalfi coast road, into Naples or Herculaneum. The whole region has stunning scenery & and the villa is perfectly located to take it all in. We loved the holiday, loved the villa & have many great memories (not to mention about a million photographs) of our stay in Campania. Thanks Ralph for making our stay so perfect.

Summary: We had a lovely holiday in Montefaciano. Ralph met us when we arrived although it was late and he was very friendly and helpful throughout our holiday. We were grateful to find provisions waiting for us at the villa. The villa was lovely; clean, beautifully decorated, equipped with everything we needed and very spacious. We cooked. For ourselves nearly every evening and found plenty of pots, pans, plates, bowls, glasses etc. although there were 2 other couples holidaying with us, we did not argue over the master bedroom as all the bedrooms were equally well decorated. We ate outside nearly every evening as the early evenings were not cold. The nights were cool and made sleeping easy. We enjoyed the terrace and the swimming pool during the day and watching the swallows diving in the morning and afternoon. Our daughter Fran and her cousin Meg wanted to keep in contact with friends back home and therefore most days we walked to Montefaciano to use the free wifi at the local public house, the Dragonfly. The walk took under 1/2 hour and was enjoyable. We recommend the butchers shop we used for 2 barbeques we had. We also bought some very nice crusty rolls from the butchers. We travelled to Pompeii, Versuvius, Herculaneum, Sorrento and Benevito. The only negative we could think of during the holiday was that the roads around Naples were extremely busy with erratic Italian drivers. Only the brave should consider driving through Naples especially during busy periods. Luckily the airport is south of Naples and so the drive to they villa is ok. We found the historical sites, Pompeii and Herculaneaum, without too much difficulty but had trouble finding parking at Pompeii. If anyone wants to avoid driving around, we recommend parking at the railway station. We loved Sorrento and saw the coastline for the first time on a beautiful sunny day. The sky and sea were a glorious blue. We took a boat trip around the amalfi coast and around Capri in a private boat. Our Captain was friendly, knowledgeable and could speak good English. We would highly recommend the villa in Montefaciano to anyone wanting to visit Southern Italy. Thank you very much Ralph for all your help.

Summary: The owner made us feel very welcome and was on hand to answer any questions we had. The house was equipped with everything we needed. It was also very clean and spacious. The location was lovely, quiet and very peaceful. The local town supplied us with the food and drink we required, especially the greengrocers opposite the town hall. I would also recommend the pizzeria opposite the hall. The pizzas were very reasonably priced and tasty. If you need to go to a bar, head for the Dragonfly. Avellino nearby is not the best signposted town, so finding the supermarkets can be a bit of a challenge! Thanks very much Ralph for all your help.

Summary: We have been staying in rented properties for many years for our family holidays and this was the best. The house itself is clean, comfortable and well equipped. The location is perfect with a staggeringly beautiful view and a relaxed rural location. The area is not touristy but is relatively close to all the tourist destinations. The owner is always on hand if there are questions or concerns. I would recommend this property to everyone and hope we get a chance to return.
