What Our Guests say 500 + Reviews

Summary: It’s a beautiful house located close to the southern tip of Sicily. It’s a good base for trips in the area. The pool was very nice - the host lives just next door, so it’s easy to get in contact in case there are any problems.

Summary: We are four old friends who decided to hold a reunion in Italy. We chose this villa for its generous layout and sufficient facilities. The stay was very pleasant and we thoroughly enjoyed our accommodation. The owner, Mariella, is a kind and wonderful lady who was more than happy to service all our requests before and during our stay at the villa. The villa has four large bedrooms all equipped with air conditioning. Initially, we were quite worried about lack of A/C in the living room but later discovered that leaving the A/Cs in the bedroom on would ensure the whole house got pleasant temperatures. With villa's location, you do need a car but there are spaces in the villa for parking more than a car. Overall, we had a great time in this villa and as many had said it before us, Mariella's kind responses make the experience even better.

Summary: Two week holiday for two adults and four teenage girls. This villa was perfect: clean, spacious and well equipped. The pool was fantastic, the location was brilliant, a short drive from Marzamemi, which we all loved, a small but, lively and very pretty village with plenty of restaurants and cafes to choose from. Just over an hour from Catania airport, would really recommend. Thank you to Mariella for your lovely welcome.

Summary: Mariela’s house was an ideal location for us (three couples) to explore south-east Sicily. One day we visited Ragusa and Sclcli on our Montalbano tour, which included a tour of his “office” in the police station! Another trip was to Mount Etna where we spent three hours exploring the lower slopes and finished with a delicious lunch in Antico Orto Dei Limone in Nicolosi. Note that the drive to Mount Etna is a long one but we felt it was worth it. The next day we did the coastal walk in the National Park - Reserva Naturale Oasi Faunistica di Vendicari - about 10 K from the house. You can spot flamingoes here if you are lucky and we thought we saw one! In the afternoon we drove to Noto which is one of the best examples of urban Baroque architecture around. It’s a gem of a little town. On our fourth day we visited Villa Romana Del Casale which is home to the finest Roman floor mosaics in existence. Another long drive via Modica but it was totally worth it. Our last two days were blessed with glorious sunshine and we explored the nearest little village called Marzamemi which is quite unspoilt and has a selection of very good restaurants and a fine local products food shop. We spent the afternoon at the lovely beach at San Lorenzo again just down the road from our house. Mariela was very welcoming and helpful and we enjoyed our time in beautiful Sicily very much. We enjoyed the beautiful swimming pool at the villa and loved eating in the outdoor kitchen space where we barbecued as well. The outdoor space at the villa is really nice. Though we were aware from the start that there was only one indoor bathroom, it would have been nice to have had another bathroom inside the house. More pool side seats for sunbathing would be welcome as well. The house is absolutely ideal for a family but a little cramped for six adults.

Summary: We were 8 people, aged between 17 and 80. The house was perfectly cut for us with its 4 double-bedrooms, the practical and inviting lounge and the large kitchen. We always ate outside which was bliss. The pool was used extensively, even by grandma who otherwise never swims. This was our third holiday in Sicily and we found this region around Marzamemi / Pachino to be the best location so far. We did tours to nice historic towns like Scicly, Noto or Siracusa, enjoyed the local villages Marzamemi (where we often went in the evenings) or Porto Palo or did our shopping in Pachino. What we really treasured was the closeness and beauty of the sea. All in all I think we must have found at least 4 different "favorite" beaches, all of them beautiful for snorkeling or simply lying in the sun, often with a little bar for a sun downer. It was great having Mariella next door. She always responded straight away if we had any questions or needed something with respect to the house. A lovely person!

Summary: A very welcoming and comfortable home, with very nice owners. The house is open with nice landscaping and views over orchards. The property is near the amazing beaches of the Vendicari Riserva. It was nice to come back from the beach and spend time on the terrace and pool. The outdoor kitchen (in addition to a large regular kitchen) was a pleasant surprise. It even has a wood fire pizza oven. Mariella and her son were kind and helpful. We helped ourselves to the last figs of the season from their orchard, and Mariella brought us even more. Beds were comfortable and kitchen was well provisioned.

Summary: We (a family of 7 adults) spent a very happy week in "Un Angolo di Paradiso" - aptly named! The house is spacious, nicely furnished and very well equipped with everything that we needed. We particularly liked the outdoor kitchen and of course the swimming pool, which was lovely - beautifully situated, clean, and a great place to start and end the day, especially followed by an evening sitting on the terrace watching the sunset. The location was good - it was easy to get to lots of interesting and beautiful places - between us we visited Modica, Scicli, Noto, Siracusa, the area around Pachino, Punta Secca, Sampieri, Cava Grande, Pantalica, Gli Aroma herb nursery, the Vendicari nature reserve and Mount Etna. Nearby Marzamemi has a wealth of cafes and restaurants and a lovely atmosphere at night. The youngsters enjoyed the walk there along the beach. The beach itself was a little disappointing - a lot of litter - but the sea was clean and gentle - great for swimming or for children to paddle and play Mariella made us welcome, was nearby in case of need but did not intrude on us at all - a good hostess! I would very happily recommend her house to anyone looking for a larger property for their holiday.
