Positive: We loved everything !! The easy access to the beach was lovely. Our room and balcony were gorgeous. So clean and stylish. We really enjoyed getting to bbq on our balcony. It was nice to spend the evening in our balcony because it’s the best spot in town. We really appreciated that the hotel provided bikes, paddle boards, surfboards etc. we biked for our 2 hours along the izu coast. The town of yumigahama is really sweet and worth exploring as well. And lastly, the owners and staff at the hotel were incredibly kind.

Positive: Staying at Villa Yumigahama was one of the highlights of our trip. We spent the first half of our two week vacation in cities, staying very active doing lots of activities. From when we first arrived at the Villa, we immediately felt relaxed and at ease- almost as if it was a vacation from our vacation! The workers were kind and helpful. Our room had a booklet full of recommendations of restaurants, beaches, hikes, hot springs, etc. One worker helped us make a reservation at a local yakiniku restaurant with delicious and affordable wagyu- the meal another one of our highlights on the trip. Another invited us to a local village's autumn harvest festival, which was a very unique and beautiful experience. Overall, the quality of service felt very high and warm, and this contributed greatly to our stay being so relaxing and memorable. Our villa, the "Treehouse," was spacious and well kept. We had a beautiful view of the trees and the beach. The overall location was beautiful and relaxing, with the villa being just a few minutes walk from the beach. We didn't use the barbeque or pizza oven that they have onsite, but if we had been staying longer, it would have been a nice perk to have. Lastly, the villa was a great value, being one of our most affordable accommodations on our trip. I would highly recommend staying at Villa Yumigahama.

Positive: We loved the friendly and helpful owners, the sweet cat, the adorable treehouse that came with our booking, and the surrounding area. Walking to Yumigahama Beach was just a stone's throw away and we had easy access to a couple of restaurants that were good. On another day, we explored the coastal trail all the way to the heart-shaped cave and it was beautiful. The futon bed was very comfortable and we had plenty of space for the four of us. This stay was the highlight of our trip to Japan for me!
Negative: Not much negative to say. There was a larger hotel definitely in our line of sight for the beach, but the views and area were still exceptional.
Summary: We cherish having had the chance to experience a part of Japan that most Western tourists skip.
