Positive: The villa was lovely. It has everything you need and is very comfortable. The salt water pool is great and cleaned every morning. Cleaners come in every day and sheets and towels changed every three days. The villa is a 10/15 minute walk from the village and a good choice of bars and restaurants. It rained on our last evening and we went to the hotel next door which has a pleasant restaurant. A small beach is only a few hundred metres down the hill. Communication with the owner was good and he arranged our airport taxis for us and greeted us on arrival.

Negative: Walking to the village along the waterside involves a very steep slope but this can be avoided by walking along the main road or a pathway adjacent to the next door hotel. The nearest supermarket is in the village so difficult for heavier items if you don’t hire a car. The six villas are quite close together and there is a hotel next door and school across the road. This didn’t bother us at all but might if you’re looking for a secluded environment!

Summary: The villa is really beautiful and so well kept. We look forward to returning soon!

Positive: Villa Balastouris is well located within easy reach of cafe/bakery, supermarket, tavernas and town beach. Sandy beaches with a few minutes drive. Bed nice, showers nice, pool nice, cleaning daily with new towels and beddings every 3 days, Excellent balcony terrace on first floor. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the wonderful smile every morning was a free addition to the holiday.

Negative: Limited kitchen but then in Greece, who wants to cook in the apartment.

Positive: The hosts welcoming us, helping with luggage, showing us around the house and amenities also providing tips where to get best breakfast, lunch and dinner, even where to catch a great sunset, best route to walk into harbour and town. If needed the host was always at the end of the phone replying almost instantly and very helpful even arranged taxi to the airport which was less than the taxi we'd booked online to arrive at the property. It's a lovely property, comfortable furniture inside and out including bed, mattress, bedding and towels. We enjoyed the bottle of wine left for us in the fridge too. There's a balcony off the main bedroom with great seaview. A school over the road didn't bother us, never heard them going in or leaving and was out most days when the children had playground time.

Negative: The ants which were annoying climbing up the small lounger tables outside but I suppose there is little they can do about that. Something they definitely can't control is the people in the hotel to the side of the property. A couple arrived a few days after us but kept having people on their terrace drinking, chatting and getting noisier as the night went on though one night my husband went out after midnight and asked they make less noise which they did. This can happen anywhere so shouldn't put you off. The pool was a little cold for us but then I suppose that could be as we had rain which they wouldn't normally have in September. Unfortunately couldn't extend our time in the house on our last day but they did store our luggage and met us on leaving which was considerate.

Summary: Great host, house, location, such friendly locals and would definitely go back!

Positive: Villas Balatsouras is the perfect accommodation for a visit to Palairos. It's modern, well looked after, the pool is amazing, the location is excellent, it is extremely comfortable and the host Dimitris is fantastic. Cannot fault this accommodation.
