Positive: Dan, our host, was very nice and attentive. We also appreciated the regional produce that had been left for us. The place is very comfortable, with attention paid to every detail, and the enormous terrace with a view of Pico is amazing. A special mention goes to the moka espresso maker which is a rarity - in most other accommodation I have stayed in on the islands, only pod coffee machines were available. The road there is a little tricky at the moment because of ongoing works, but tricky roads are the standard to the fajas in São Jorge. There is a steep path to get to the accommodation, but Dan helped us with our luggage, so that was fine.

Positive: The remote location provided a compelling reason for mindful relaxation! My hosts provided a basket of goodies! Fresh bread, honey, local pastry, bananas from a neighbor’s trees and eggs from their own chickens! There’s a view of the immense mountain on Pico and the secluded faja below, as well as a colorful sunset and the sparkling sea! There are many windows with screens so the breeze can flow throughout the cozy cottage without welcoming any bugs…the occasional turkey gobble, rooster crow and goose honks are a pleasant reminder of a rural stay! Dan and Cidalena thought of everything to make me feel at home…I hope to return one day soon!

Positive: Everything was fantastic: magical views, peace and quiet, comfortable cozy house, well-equipped. But most of all, the hosts Cidalina and Dan welcomed us warmly and went to great lengths to ensure we had everything we needed and more. We are looking forward to coming back!
