Positive: Love the traditional Japanese (旅館 Ryokan) setting; authentic meals, friendly staff, and relaxing hot bath. They are so so a really huge temple across from it. Staying at Wakanmatsu Honten feels like home. We ate well and rested well.

Positive: what a lovely place - particularly because of the staff. They were so friendly and very happy to help. We booked breakfast and dinner for one night, the food was very local and plenty. We were beyond full after the dinner. Do be mindful that it is local delicacies so if you do not like very local, traditional fare then it might not be your liking. However, the staff and chef make sure you are well well fed. Great location for a short stay. the park opposite is just beautiful as was the temple.

Positive: The evening meal was wonderful (as long as you like Traditional Japanese food). The onset ( bathing facilities) were a great experience and a brilliant way to relax after a long flight.

Positive: The yukata provided was comfortable, good welcoming gift and lovely decoration. Felt welcomed upon arrival. Love the sound of bell rang from the temple too. Dinner tastes authentic and delicious. The female shared bathroom is clean and organised with nice skincare products provided. Love the bath prepared by the ryokan. Friendly, helpful and kind staff. There's shuttle to the train station.
Negative: Check out time is too early albeit knowing that upon booking. Perhaps the time for shuttle to station could be extended. The shared bathroom causes a little anxiety because not used to it.

Positive: The location across from Narita temple and park was perfect. It allowed us to partake of those wonderful places along with all the wonderful little shops and restaurants on the Main Street in Narita.
Negative: Nothing could have been better.

Positive: great service from all the staff!! while the meal staff are not as fluent in english, they communicate everything well with simple phrases and gestures. onsen was great and relaxing, and the room had a beautiful view of the shrine. the location of the ryokan was also amazing with the old street in front and lots to see.
