Positive: An amazing glamping place! So nicely made! In the middle of the forest, you could hear nature noises and have a brew to taking view. The food they prepared, both breakfast and dinner, was delicious! Local flavors with local products. It was the best food we had in Sri Lanka. They have also a common space where you can play chess, do yoga or just relaxed. Literally fantastic!

Negative: Absolutely nothing.

Positive: It's hard to really capture how amazing this place is in words. The Wanakaset staff was super friendly and accommodating, and truly were the highlight of our trip to Sri Lanka. They helped us drive our rented tuk tuk up the hill (very much needed), and welcomed us with a delicious and refreashing drink. The rooms and the lounge are absolutely stunning, and lovely to spend time in! The food was great, and they were very accommodating to a vegan diet (meat isn't served at all in the resort). We highly recommend doing a guided walk around the property, where you get to see the beautiful nature, learn more about the project, and hear about the properties of the plants around the resort. We also loved the cooking class, where we learned more about Sri Lankan cuisine, and the traditional cooking methods they use in the kitchen. Thank you to Banda and his team, we hope we can come back soon!

Negative: The location is a bit remote, so once you're at Wanakaset, it felt a bit complicated to leave the property for a meal, for example. That being said, there was plenty for us to do there during our 2-night stay (hikes, cooking classes, enjoying the lounge, etc). We didn't see this as a negative, but just a heads up!

Summary: Amazing forest stay to properly enjoy the Sri Lankan nature!

Positive: A super unique place to stay, hidden up in the jungle overlooking the Kituluga valley. It wasn’t busy when we stayed there so plenty of space to relax and very quiet - not much else to do but that’s the point! The family who run the hotel are very kind and hospitable, and cooked some of the best food that we had in Sri Lanka. All in all a great place to stay.

Positive: It was tranquil and authentic. Waking up to the view of the jungle & sounds of the birds and the forest was beautiful. The food was delicious, fresh and varied. There is also a lounge area guests can use which has scenic views and is a perfect place to relax. The kids enjoyed exploring the jungle area. The manager was kind and extremely knowledgable. It was a wonderful experience and was the highlight of our trip.

Positive: This place is surrounded with beautiful nature. The view and the natural sounds from the forest were amazing. Here you can become part of the environment. The host is a very hospitable person. They made us a super delicious Sri Lankan dinner and breakfast from self grown ingredients. The bathrooms and toilets were super clean. It has a big room with bed and comfortable chairs to hangout. We enjoyed to chill here with a spectacular view and wildlife. The last part of the road to the place is challenging with a low grounding vehicle, so they offered a shuttle service for both ways!

Negative: I can’t mention anything

Summary: Super peaceful accommodation surrounded by beautiful environment.

Negative: Thursday till Sunday stay and room was not attended to once - bed not made, bins not emptied- very disappointing considering the price. Not made aware that credit cards were not accepted until the day of our arrival - given its remote location it made accessing cash a problem- would’ve been nice to know in advance

Positive: We are a traveling family. Truly, this is one of the most enchanted places we had the privilege to stay in. It is unique because you are in the middle of the jungle, without walls. The place is very relaxing, yet you feel the jungle, in the good way. The stuff is most delicate and gentle. The facility is luxurious. We had a great time. All the payments for your stay are dedicated to the preservation of the forest. Wonderful.

Negative: Showers and toilets are outside your room. It is yours with a ket, but it is outside the room. Be advised. Also, you are in the jungle. If you leave food in the basket or in the open, expect ants and the like.
