2 Bedroom House in Bridgman

This metal sided lodge with a metal roof was once offices for a construction company. The owners happened to be our landlords when we rented their cottage across the field. We fell in love with the 2000 acre park behind us and wanted to create our own space.
Since we renovate homes for a living, we were able to collect a lot of items along the way that didn't fit someone else's vision for their new space. There was also the mismeasured door or cabinet or window that needed a new home. All of these lovely items found a new home in our converted structure.The screened porch was a covered dirt floor for lumber. Our great room was a garage and the bedrooms were offices.As you can see from the pictures, it has come a long way.
It is hard to get the experience of feeling you are a million miles away from everything unless you take out a second mortgage on your home and head to the Polynesian Islands. Fortunately for us, we found this crown jewel of a 2000 acre park called Warren Dunes on the lake one hour and twenty minutes from Chicago. We are on the North end of the park away from the main entrance so it is like owning your own private estate on the lake. We hardly run into a soul all year round. Summary: Property not as close to things to do during off season. A few items need some tlc and outdoor lighting for safety. If you bring pet would not recommend leaving un attended as may escape the fences in yard.

Summary: Place was quiet and cozy. Enclosed porch with hot tub was not too private with mobile home window facing the hot tub. The key to get in the door took us forever to get the door unlocked. Never have seen a door lock this way. But overall a quiet place and was clean besides a pan in the oven with a pretzel on it. There wss

Summary: We truly loved the trails to Warren dunes from the end of the road. It was stunning and incredible to be able to got on an evening walk to watch the sunset while watching your kids climb dunes they have all to themselves. It was honestly an ok VRBO. The door truly did not lock, seemed to be able to push the front door open no matter what we tried. The yard and hot tub porch left a lot to be desired but the kids were perfectly happy. I would say that if you have children on cots one of the rooms is quite spacious and allows room for extra people while one is a bit smaller to add sleepers. We stayed for 2 nights, it was a good place to sleep and adventure from but not our favorite as a place to hang out.

Summary: Overall was a good spot. House is nice to stay in and is a perfect 10 min walk from beach through warren dunes state park. However, the only downside was the cleanliness. There was mouse droppings in the pull out mattress. But the owner was able to work with us to sort out the situation. Also some of the neighbors smoked weed one evening but I'm assuming the host talked to them because it didn't happen again after.

Summary: This place was great for a girls weekend! 15 min or less from wineries and the beach! And when everything closes at night, we had a great time relaxing in the hot tub! The place is cute! The common areas were big enough to comfortably fit our group of 5. It took us forever to get the hang of the door and the key. I really wish there was a keypad or something. But, we got it eventually! Patti was sweet and very responsive. Would definitely consider returning!

Summary: Honestly, it's hard to explain this space without it sounding critical, but that truly is not my intention. My husband (and our dogs) sincerely enjoyed our stay, and the house offers absolutely all you could want in this area in terms of amenities and closeness to major wineries and beach/lake spots. You can actually walk directly to and through Warren Dunes State Park from the road the home sits on, which makes hiking and swimming a lot of fun and a bit of an adventure if you're looking for more time in nature. What's odd about the space is the outdoor settings. Both porches and patios are in terrible shape, and the little back-yard space was filled with dilapidated furniture during our stay. None of this impaired our visit, or ability to enjoy the space, just very odd from an owner that has placed so much attention to detail to the inside of the home. With this being said, I would still advocate strongly that this property is about the best deal around, and would absolutely return the next time we plan to be in the area.
