4 Bedroom House in Bridgeton

Immerse yourself in the timeless beauty of this 12 acre Riverfront property in Bridgeton, N.J. Experience the peaceful enjoyment of the property’s 800+ feet of direct river frontage on the Cohansey River. Situated on the site of the Prestigious Sora Gun Club, this historic 3-Bedroom, 2-Bath light-filled home with magnificent great room has classical details and distinctive appointments throughout. A serene Oasis! Many artifacts from the original structure including leaded glass doors and original gas lamps (converted to electric), along with a bedroom with walls constructed from the doors of the original club combine to create a unique blend of history with modern day comforts. Also located on the property is an octagonal building which served as the outdoor kitchen for the gun club. The first floor of the narrow two story structure adjacent to the kitchen contains the original lockers where guests stored their guns used to hunt the Sora Rail Bird. The keys to the lockers along with the names of the guests, written in their own hand, remain in their original location. The second floor of the building housed the staff who provided service to guests. Updated with a modern kitchen and game room, The Sora is located only 35 miles from Philadelphia and an easy drive from New York. Historic Greenwich Township Greenwich Township was first formed as a precinct on January 19, 1748, and was incorporated by an act of the New Jersey Legislature on February 21, 1798, as one of New Jersey's initial group of 104 townships. Portions of Hopewell Township and Stow Creek Township were annexed in 1845. The township was named for Greenwich, England. In 1774, during the run-up to the American Revolutionary War, the small community on the Cohansey River was the site of the Greenwich Tea Party, in which a load of tea meant to be sent overland into Philadelphia, Pennsylvania was torched in the night. After the Revolutionary War, the pronunciation of the town was changed to Green-witch to differentiate itself from its English namesake Apple Picking Crisp and rosy, apples are biding their time in orchards throughout New Jersey.

Summary: The stay was fantastic, it is right on the river, fishing was good (caught some huge catfish), the pool was A+ for hot days, and we had an overall wonderful time. Kitchen was extremely well stocked, plenty of space for sleeping and hanging out, and a fire under the stars is a special treat we were able to enjoy.

Summary: First off Tom was the best host to deal with, hands-down. The place is exactly what it’s cracked up to be and wish we had more time to spend there, but we were down for a world sporting clay championship event and were away most of the day. Highly recommended.

Summary: We all enjoyed our stay at The Sora, so rich in history and such a tranquil place to kick back and enjoy just being together! Nothing like sitting out by the water in the morning, enjoying my coffee, while sitting just a few feet away from an American Bald Eagle. I hope to go back again with my kids and my grandchildren as my family continues to grow.

Summary: Our family had the best time here. It is the nicest place we've stayed at yet. It is exactly as pictured. Contemporary with an historical flavor. My wife and I are pretty picky about things, but we found "Sora" to be immaculate. Clean, well stocked with any and all items you may need. Had an IPAD Alexa, and charging stations all over. Beds were so comfortable. Linens, pillows, blankets, towels, etc. all high end. So organized and ready to go as soon as you arrive. The pool was great. Lots of games both indoor and outdoor for your use. Easy check in and check out. Only negative was poor cell service (actually a positive, depending on how you look at it). Book it!
