The beaches of Oak Island are just a short drive over the ICW. (3.2 miles to Oak Island Pier). Par 3 Golf is available less than a mile away, and Oak Island Golf is just 3 miles, by Caswell Beach.
There are many area restaurants, but the condo is located next door to the very highly rated restaurant, Joseph's Italian Bistro. Rusty Hooks Dockside Grill is a 2 minute stroll, with sunset views from their expanded deck and Tiki Bar.
A 6 mile drive takes you to historic downtown Southport, where you can amble through the many Boutiques & Antique Shops, Southport Market, Bakeries, Craft Beer and Wine Bars. Visit the Maritime Museum, or lounge in a swing chair on the lawn while watching the Cape Fear River boat traffic. Take a sunset cruise...highly recommended, and maybe a Ghost Tour in Southport!

Summary: Second time renting this little oasis. Every detail is thought of here and we made a great choice to return. You can’t beat a weekend for 2 sitting on the marina and watching the boats, water and birds. Little walk to the Rusty Hooks for fantastic drinks and eats. Joseph’s was a great anniversary dinner next door. Starting and ending the day on the marina is a treat!

Summary: The condo is very cute and the view from the private deck is awesome! The host, Gemma, was very responsive. I would definitely recommend this rental.

Summary: The condo is perfect as is the property owner, Gemma. A lovely welcome basket (and handwritten note from Gemma) greeted us upon arrival. Inside the fridge were two individual sized bottles of sparkling wine to help kick off our 3 night stay. It’s also nice to have one of the best restaurants just steps away (that now takes reservations...yes!). Joseph’s is an old school Italian “joint” that serves up great hand crafted cocktails and delicious food. We ate there 2 nights in a row and almost went for the trifecta our last night. Be sure and ask for Marquis as your server, he’s been at Jospeh’s for 19 years and loves his job. We’ve used a similar property (2nd floor) on site for years. However, these 72 year old knees have seen better days, I’m afraid. Gemma’s place will be our go to place from now on. Main floor entrance...great view of the marina...impeccably decorated...washer-dryer on site. Southport is 10 minutes away as are the beaches. Thanks Gemma for making us feel so welcomed.

Summary: The house was very comfortable and had a lot of fun coastal accents. I gave it 4 stars for location because the next porch to mine was the outdoor seating for an Italian restaurant. Fortunately, it closed at 9:00 pm, so noise wasn’t really an issue. Gemma was a wonderful host and provided all the necessary informations for a hassle- free stay!stay.issue

Summary: Gemma’s place was perfect for a weekend beach getaway! Super close to downtown Southport and Oak Island - a great location to stay for anyone who wants some variety. Plus the view of the marina from the deck was so pretty; we enjoyed coffee in the morning and wine in the evening. We also ate at Joseph’s and Rusty Hooks - great food at both! The property was exceptionally clean and Gemma thought of everything, from a sweet welcome basket to extra bath towels to beach towels. It was also very well stocked. We would definitely stay there again!
