Summary: Popped over to Nanaimo for a quick weekend away. This property was close to both the ferry and downtown, easy to find and all set up ready to go! The balcony and the beautiful view were an extra bonus! We will look for it again next time we make it to Nanaimo!

Summary: We were attending the Nanaimo Blues Festival and selected this property because it was within walking distance (20 minutes) of the festival grounds and most of it along the Harbourfront Walkway. We were four adults and we had two separate bedrooms. The living space was a good size and we were not tripping over each other when we were there. We had morning coffee and breakfast in, and drinks and snacks in the evening. Lunch and Dinner were out of the unit, but it would be easy to cook any meal at this place as it has all the necessary appliances and a few bonuses - salt, peppers, and some herbs and spices and lots of counter space. The condo has a great view of the nearby marina and water channel between Shelter Island and the main island. The balcony was a great place to enjoy morning coffee. The unit is of older construction and is starting to show signs of its age. It does not show as clean as it probably is - a few marks in the paint, tile floor finish seems to be wearing off, and the fan in the bathroom was not working when we were there. But, that was not a real issue for us and we would still rent this unit again with out any hesitation.

Summary: Overall a good place. Parking is sparse and confusing but we got sorted after sending a message to the owner. The bed in the master bedroom is not too comfortable. Springs are gone in it. Someone in complex reports back to owner. We had brought alcohol into unit to take with us to a wedding the next day and next thing I knew we were getting a message accusing us of gearing up for a party and complaining of us being loud when we were in bed by 10.30. Owner did respond but sometimes it took a while. Day of check out we got a message asking us to put laundry in and when we messaged back with questions there was no reply and never did hear from since. TV in master wasn’t working either and we were told to change batteries in remote. Still didn’t work. I just feel those things should be checked before renters go in. The views are amazing and the condo space is good. Well spaced out. Close enough to everything and nice appliances.

Summary: Condo was what was portrayed on site, which was very nice. Everything there we needed. Was clean and comfortable with great view. Communication and check in was great.

Summary: This could be a great condo for your holiday but was let down by the poor cleanliness, general tiredness and damaged furniture. The location was OK, it was about a 10-15 minute walk from the ferry terminal and about a 20-30 minute walk along the sea front walk into downtown Nanaimo. The views from the balcony were lovely, overlooking Newcastle Island and a busy working marina with sea planes coming in to land. However, when we arrived we discovered that there was food left in the freezer and cupboards from the previous occupants. Whilst it is always nice to find some basics, this was clearly food that should have been removed. Also, there were cobwebs on the walls and in the corners of the rooms. There were push pins in the wall and holes in the living room wall. The bed linen, whilst clean was so creased that it felt dirty. The furniture was broken- a knob on the drawer in the bedroom- and was damaged and tired. The patio had a table and chairs which had not been cleaned, there was a broken and torn parasole and a dirty rug laying folded up. The kitchen sink had an insinkerator garbage disposal but this was covered in grime. The bins in the cupboard under the sink were broken. It was not clear what the rules were around garbage collection/ use of bins. The owner of the property was emailed as soon as we arrived to ask for the freezer to be cleaned but this never happened. He stated that a cleaner was supposed to come but was unable to due to family issues. Overall, if more attention was made to cleanliness and decor, this would be a great place to stay. However, at this time, I would not recommend it to my friends.

Summary: The view of the waterfront and boats was lovely to wake up to each day. The location was great for us; easy to find and centrally located. The apartment was pretty clean, the multiple televisions were a big hit with the kids. We would stay here again.
