2 Bedroom Condo in Regional District of Nanaimo, Nanoose Bay

Spring is here on Vancouver Island; we invite you to visit, relax, and explore our beautiful mid-Island surroundings. Don't forget to reserve early our little piece of heaven for your summer vacation.
The Foxglove is a vacation condominium located at the confluence of the ocean and a tidal estuary, and offers serene and mesmerizing scenery from it's three patios and many windows. We offer a private, comfortable and beautifully curated home for you to enjoy as you savour all that Vancouver Island has to offer.
Find a trail to hike, stroll the many beaches, join a whale-watching tour, or visit a nearby restaurant. The day is yours to seize!
The Foxglove offers two spacious bedrooms, each with their own bathrooms. We are 9 steps up from ground level, with short sidewalk runs to break the steps up. Our home has been refreshed; there is new paint throughout and a new kitchen has been installed. Newly renovated bathrooms are immaculately clean and comfortable, with new lighting, along with an abundance of towels, bathmats and face cloths. Shower dispensers are filled with luxurious soap, shampoo and conditioner in each shower.
The open concept layout allows for magnificent views from the kitchen, dining room and living room areas, and spans right out to two separate balconies. You will enjoy gorgeous sunsets from either balcony, and if the evening is chilly, wrap up in one of the cozy blankets tucked away under the patio table and take in the serene beauty of your surroundings.
The kitchen is fully stocked with everything a home chef could need, including higher end cookware, a self-sharpening knife set, a Lodge dutch oven, KitchenAid mixer, rice cooker, coffee maker, stovetop espresso maker (Moka), blender, toaster, kettle, and a slide-in range, which features an air fryer. The kitchen also features granite counter tops and a peninsula breakfast bar.
We offer coffee, tea, sugar, honey, basic herbs and spices, flour, olive oil, and cooking spray, along with mustard, ketchup, lemon and lime juice, BBQ sauce, vinegars, and salt and pepper. The quantities are suitable for shorter stays of 7 days.
The master bedroom features a king size bed, a fireplace, and balcony access. The second bedroom offers a queen size bed, along with a sofa (double hide-a-bed), and comfortable seating area; this bedroom has a sliding patio door to a small balcony, which enjoys morning sun. This bedroom also offers a television, and both bedrooms offer suitcase racks.
The living room is contiguous with the kitchen/dining area; it features a fireplace, and two sliding/locking patio doors to two separate, glass enclosed balconies. Please note that small children could climb on patio furniture, and fall over the railing; supervision of young children, when they are on the balcony, is a must. There is a television in the living room which is on a swivel bracket, to ensure comfortable viewing by all. The television has basic cable as well as apps for a smart tv.
Our home is on the second floor and most of our windows face the afternoon and evening sun; we offer a stand-alone air conditioner, which is situated in the living room. This unit vents through the smaller of the two living room balconies, rendering that particular balcony inaccessible during the hotter months. We also have a window air conditioning unit in the queen bedroom. Both air conditioners are removed once the heat of summer has passed. We offer 2 fans, and there are curtains which can be drawn to help block the summer sun when needed. On warmer days, we suggest drawing the curtains earlier rather than later. There is a skylight blind over the dining room table, which will help to manage daytime heating on hotter days; the sooner in the day that this blind is drawn, the cooler the home will be. The pole for the blind is stored behind the curtain in the dining room.
Our ensuite offers a soaker tub, separate toilet and shower, two sinks and a double sided gas fireplace. The second bathroom offers a sink, shower and toilet, and the laundry facilities are tucked behind closet doors.
Should you wish to do laundry, we have a washer and dryer in our home; please feel free to use our laundry supplies, which includes detergent pods, dryer sheets and dryer balls. We also provide a drying rack, an iron and ironing board. Now enough about laundry....
Your stay at The Foxglove includes an Amenities Pass. We have purchased this Pass in order to ensure you have access to bicycles, paddle boards and kayaks during your stay. This pass will also allow you to use the indoor pool, fitness centre, hot tub, sauna, outdoor hot tub and outdoor kiddie pool, as well as the pickle-ball court, billiards and ping pong table. Due to the nature of the tides in Craig Bay, paddle boards and kayaks are available for two hours before, and two hours after high tide. If you booked a paddleboard at low tide, you'd be walking a long long way to launch! The tides make for majestic beachcombing, but crummy water-sports! Bookings cannot be made in advance, it is first come, first serve; to sign out equipment or access the pool, visit the front desk of the resort's lobby. During the shoulder and off-season, the paddle boards, kayaks and bicycles may not be available, depending on weather. Please also note the indoor pool is closed on Mondays, and from 1230-2:30 every day for maintenance.
A public bbq area is available for use; a gas bbq, and a picnic table are steps away from our home. You will see the bbq area as you park in our stall; it is just slightly to your left.
Enjoy the seaside gazebo down by the ocean ... this is a beautiful spot to enjoy a glass of wine and the sunset! The gas tabletop fireplaces add to the relaxing ambience. Grab the two beach chairs in the front closet and head down for a relaxing evening. Extra seating is available at the gazebo, on a first-come-first-serve basis.
The restaurant at Pacific Shores is now open; it is called Pacific Moon Rising. The menu is quite extensive, the service is good and prices are comparable for the area. Two for dinner, with a couple of glasses of wine for under 100$ including tip.
Tigh-Na-Mara Resort does offer a beautiful Spa, and is only about an 8 minute drive from our home, and you can find many restaurants in both Parksville, Qualicum Beach, Coombs and Nanaimo.
Parking is available for one vehicle, in the spot marked 323; additional parking can be found in the main (gravel) parking area across from the Resort office, or in the small parking area right out front of the home. Please be sure to not park in any numbered stalls or in front of any garages.
The Resort has become completely non-smoking this year; smoking is only permitted off-property.

Summary: Our family of 5 had a wonderful stay at Kim and Alan’s condo! The unit was just as advertised and equipped with so many thoughtful touches. The location is excellent and the resort has great amenities. Our kids especially loved the outdoor pool which was nice and warm. The unit was super quiet and very comfortable. We have stayed at many vacation rentals over the years and this was definitely one of our favorites. Communication with Alan was very easy and timely. We hope to visit again in the near future. Can’t recommend this enough!

Summary: Our family booked 10 days at the Foxglove, and it was wonderful. The condo was clean and comfortable, has a nicely equipped kitchen, and it was so quiet. Easy access to town, to Nanaimo, and the hiking trails in the area- the location was excellent. The view of the bay was lovely. We were lucky to see a few seals bobbing in the bay, and really enjoyed the paddle boards available. It really was a wonderful stay, and not only would we recommend to others, but would stay again as well. Thank you, Kim and Alan. We truly appreciate your hospitality!

Summary: The details were exceptional. First, the condo was much larger than the pics can show. The cupboards in the kitchen had everything you would need and all equipment in top shape. The bathrobes were such a nice touch as well as the picnic basket and beach accessories. All told, the stay was beautiful and the owners were responsive and kind.

Summary: This was our 2nd time staying here. We came back because the unit is clean, tidy, well appointed, and in a beautiful spot. You can see the ocean and watch the tide creep up into Beaver Creek. The bathrooms have been nicely updated and the open floor plan for the kitchen/dining/living room is fantastic. We made use of the resort BBQ, indoor pool and hot tub, outdoor kids pool, and outdoor hot tub. We will be back!

Summary: We really enjoyed our stay. Spacious and very nicely decorated place, where we enjoyed the balcony every morning and evening. Well stocked kitchen where we cooked dinner every night. Location is great for exploring this area of Vancouver Island. Host was very nice and responsive. Resort itself is a bit older and could benefit from a shine up. The resort pool was charmless, but there were always kids having fun there. We appreciated the air conditioning, but did find it quite loud and it prevented us from using the 2nd balcony. All in all, I would recommend staying at this VRBO and Nanoose Bay.

Summary: Great stay and accomodation. The kitchen was very functional and reasonably well equipped. The lounge and bedrooms were generously sized. The 4 balconies gave lots of outdoor areas, including two with bay water views. Pacific Shores has lots of pickleball courts as well as great swimming and work out options. We also made use of the kayaks and paddleboards. Just wish those items were available on all the days.

Summary: The host’s thoughtfulness invested into Foxglove has provided a wonderful time of fun, rest and enjoyment of the nature by the Nanoose Bay. The kitchen is fully stocked, two bedrooms on the other side of the sitting ensure good privacy, balconies to watch the ebbs and flows of an inlet below, and the jet tub in master bedroom is a delightful bonus for the morning and eve. It’s been a blissful getaway for all of us.
