Positive: We enjoyed a very pleasant stay at Weatherills Hotel for seven days. Our room was quiet, spacious, clean and very comfortable with a large bathroom attached. The staff were very professional and helpful, led by general manager, Navin Sukamaran who was excellent. More often than not, we chose to eat in the hotel restaurant for dinner. Without exception, the food was very good. The continental breakfast included in the booking and was more than adequate. We particularly enjoyed walking around the grounds of the hotel, admiring the plants and visiting the restored windmill feature. Thursday nights’ live band performance was very popular with the locals on the island and included some very able musicians and singers. Definitely worth watching with bands alternating over a four week period. We thought that the hotel was well located, taking only a few minutes to get into St John’s or to pick up roads going further south. We visited the nearest beach at Bush Bay on several occasions and often found ourselves to be the only ones there. A word of warning, that the approach road is rough and should only be attempted using a four-wheel-drive Jeep type vehicle. Overall, I’d have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to you. However, if you are looking for a swimming pool facility and a more bustling, busy hotel then you might wish to look elsewhere. Personally, we liked the peace and solitude.
