Escape the politics! Relax and refuel in quiet nature at our recently expanded family chalet in Upper Saranac Lake. Charming, quiet and comfortable, this home has welcomed visitors for more than 20 years. The bright and spacious first floor addition includes a separate dining room with a TV/ play nook. The living room is now doubled its former size and opens to a new deck overlooking the wooded landscape. The well-appointed and fully equipped kitchen is just off the living room. The first floor continues with a master bedroom suite with a king size bed, full bath and a private entrance, opening to a second porch with an outdoor shower. The laundry room completes the first floor. The second floor has 3 bedrooms, each with queen size beds, a private sitting area, and an office loft. The second-floor bath has both a full-size bathtub and a shower. Completing the living space is a one-bedroom guest house with a full bath and a sitting area.
A lovely eight-minute walk down our road brings you to the neighborhood beach on beautiful Upper Saranac Lake. The small, sandy beach offers a spectacular vista of the lake and High Peaks. The beach is perfect for small children, as its depth progresses very gradually.
The surrounding High Peaks and St. Regis Canoe areas offer an abundance of winter and summer activities, including golf at nearby Saranac Inn Golf and Country Club and access to some of the best canoeing and kayaking in the park. There is an easy drive to Whiteface Mountain and the villages of Saranac Lake and Lake Placid, and excellent hiking, biking and cross-country skiing right outside your door.

Summary: My family had a wonderful time staying at this well-appointed house while visiting friends on Upper Saranac Lake. The convenient location and spacious layout made for a very comfortable visit to the Adirondacks. The kids even enjoyed a sleepover in the guesthouse one night.

Summary: The main house is very nice. Kitchen is fully equipped and stocked. You could eat all your meals in house but there are so many great restaurants and cafes in the surrounding area. Bedrooms and baths are up to date and nicely furnished. The summer guest house is simple but serves the purpose. No WiFi out there which was fine with us. Enjoyed sitting on the screened porch and relaxing with a glass of wine. You are close to the main road but would not know it as you are wrapped in a wooded area. Easy walk to the beach area and the grandkids had a good time swimming. Very friendly neighborhood. Mary was very responsive to questions and emails. I would highly recommend her and her property.
