Positive: Great location, great bed, breakfast delicious and host very kind

Negative: Just part of the historic architecture but Room was a bit tight with vaulted ceilings & up 2 flights of stairs with luggage.

Positive: Safe neighborhood and walking distance to Old Port. Breakfast was served in another inn across from ours, a short walking distance. The weather was fine so it was convenient to walk over to the beautiful Neal street location. The chef was so kind and welcoming, taking our orders personally and preparing & presenting them beautifully.

Negative: Our bed was terribly soft, almost like a waterbed which was very uncomfortable. Also the Grand King Suite room #5 was all the way up. We had to climb two sets of staircases divided by a heavy door which made it impossible to carry even small things to our room such as two cups of water with both hands, let alone our luggage. We didn’t get one of the three parking spaces available for guests on Neal Street location, so we did street parking and got a fine. It was only $20 and we were warned about it by West End Inn but it is not a good feeling when you find a parking ticket on your windshield first thing on your way to breakfast.

Summary: I would look into staying at Neal Street location of West End Inn.
