5 Bedroom House in Tutukaka, Whangaumu Bay

Whangaumu Bay has a wide white sandy beach which is safe to swim in and boats can launch at all tides.
Our family beach home is situated across a quiet no exit road looking over a public reserve and the water from the main lounge and living area upstairs. Upstairs also has 2 double bedrooms, a bathroom with a shower over the bath, and a large deck with the BBQ and large outdoor table. Also a smaller deck is a off the main lounge and the front bedroom. Both decks are totally secure for little ones.
Downstairs has another large lounge, with a mini kitchen - jug, toaster, sink and microwave. One of the three double bedrooms here also has a single bed in it. All beds are comfortable. All rooms open to outside. The downstairs bathroom only has a shower. 2 flat screen TVs show Sky. Wireless broadband password is available on site.
The large covered downstairs deck protects an outside lounge suite beside the hammock and overlooking the back yard.
The tree shaded, fully fenced section has an outdoor toilet and shower with another hot water outside shower over an outside bath. The latter is heaps of fun to clean off sand and get warm again after coming home from the beach (or to watch for comets and satellites among the stars after dark!)
The trampoline has a new safety cage (2020)
There is one large old caravan on site if someone wants to sleep outside the house.
We have a boat mooring in the Bay. Please enquire about availability and cost.
When other attractions call, coffee and more is only 5 mins away! Tutukaka has 4 restuarants, a few tourist shops and a store which also sells petrol. From the Marina go out on the 'Perfect Day' for a day's snorkel at the world famous dive ground of The Poor Knights.
Ngunguru Village has 3 more resturants, store, and the recreation centre with 9 holes golf course, tennis and bowls. You can walk to Ngunguru via the coast. Stunning views and pretty river beaches for swimming on the way.
Walks and other beaches both flat and surf are all along the Tutukaka Coast. Matapouri Bay, Whale Bay, Sandy Bay and Woolies Bay.
We enjoy letting our home esp. to extended families. Over Christmas we prefer 5 to 10 day bookings.
Special conditions:
Bring your own sheets, towels and tea towels. Pillows, duvets and blankets are provided.
We have a few single and one double mattress for any overflow of children in the downstairs lounge.
Smoking allowed outside only.
House needs to be left tidy for the cleaner. Charge $100.
The house is large and we like to keep it immaculate.

Summary: We were 8 adults and 5 children (ages 15 months to 76years old). The bach facilities catered for everyone's needs. The kids were playing in the back yard till late and the adults lounged on the deck on the comfy couches and hammocks.Spacious rooms, good size living area and the fact that it's accross the road from the beach, meant everyone could come and go as they please. We enjoyed the water toys too. Thank you Alan and liz for trusting us with your bach. It's evident you have invested a significant amount of work to create such a family friendly haven!

Summary: What a great spot. We really enjoyed our time at your slice of paradise. We traveled with our daughter and partner and their 18month old. The house was great for the 5 of us. Really enjoyed the kayaks and paddle board and just relaxing on the back deck soaking up the sunshine. Thank you for allowing us to make some amazing memories. Summary: We had a few hiccups but the hosts provided solutions. They do need to update the website regarding spare key which wasn't available and the internet update. Otherwise all very good.

Summary: This house is huge, upstairs and downstairs, so plenty of room for family gatherings. Everything you need is there. Air flows really well throughout the house so air conditioning is not needed. Walk straight across the road and you have the beautiful Whangaumu Bay (Wellingtons Bay). We will definitely stay here again.

Summary: This Bach has everything for a large family or group which enables separate spaces for different age ranges - downstairs was a winner for teenage boys whilst we relished the views and facilities upstairs.We felt like we had won the lottery with a full week of sunshine and with the beach just across the road, lots of swimming and beach life where just what we needed Fishing was good for us also and the outside ablution block and sink where an extra bonus. Highly recommend. Thanks to the hosts for sharing this piece of paradise.

Summary: We had a fabulous time at Whangaumu Bay. We loved the location, just a minutes walk to a safe sandy beach, great walks, quiet and peaceful. We felt very at home in the house -upstairs and downstairs options suited our group. Loved the sliding doors to the deck, sunshine in the two bedrooms upstairs, views from the house, sunrise and sunsets. Close to Tutukaka and Ngunguru for cafes and general store. Liz and Alan were great hosts, very responsive. Book with info on local walks and booklets on the Poir Knights were also helpful. Would definitely love to visit again. A real NZ bach.
