2 Bedroom Cottage in Town of Beekmantown, Plattsburgh

This cozy cottage offers sweeping lake and mountain views from the living room and front bedroom.
The quaint kitchen offers all the necessities. Included are all the pots, pans, dish wares and glasses to prepare your own meals if you choose to.
The front bedroom with 3 windows has spectacular views looking over the lake and the Vermont mountains. Watch the sunrise from the bed every morning. This room has a queen size bed.
The second bedroom has a few options. It can be set up as two twin beds or one king size bed. With the king size option we add a foam section between the beds to make the bed feel as one.
The house offers a full bath with a walk in shower.
The deck overlooks the the lake with views of the Vermont mountains and Lake Champlain. There are views of the marina close by. Enjoy sitting out on the deck and watching the boats as they come and go. Walk 5 steps down the stairs and you're in the water. The water in the front of the house is clear and clean with a small rock and sand bottom. Water shoes are recommended.
The side yard is a nice grassy area. There is plenty of space for lawn games or just basking in the sun and taking in the spectacular lake view.
In the Champlain Valley, Point Au Roche Lakeside appeals to adventure lovers, whether its hiking, biking, kayaking, x-country skiing or snowshoeing, you have your choice of ideal terrain right out our front door. Located just north of the city of Plattsburgh, the house is within minutes to historical attractions, Lake Champlain, restaurants, shops, scenic sights and area attractions.
Point Au Roche State Park – Located next door to the cottage, the park offers 12 miles of trails with views of Lake Champlain. There is also a sandy beach and boat launch within the park.
Ausable Chasm open to the public since 1870, is one of the oldest attractions in North America. Explore the Chasm on nature trails with scenic vistas and waterfalls. Add rappelling, rafting or tubing in the Chasm for the perfect adventure. Rentals are available at the Chasm. Some fun events include lantern tours, gemstone mining and now since they are open year round, take a wonderful winter tour to see frozen waterfalls and 150 ft icicles. Lake Champlain Fishing Lake Champlain is 120 miles long, ten miles wide and approx. 390 plus feet deep. Fishing occurs along the scenic New York shores of Lake Champlain. The western shore offers the breathtaking Adirondack Mountains and extraordinary sunsets. To the east, the Vermont Green Mountains provide us with gorgeous sunrises.

Summary: Four of us stayed two nights very comfortably and experienced an amazing total solar eclipse. While that event was the focus of our stay we also enjoyed sitting on the lake shore listing to the birds and the rippling water. The view was equally amazing, with a clear day you see the lake and dozens of VT mountains. The location couldn't have been more perfect for the eclipse and is part of our photo's and memories.

Summary: My husband and I stayed at this wonderful cottage for a week in July 2023. The cottage was even better than what the pictures indicated; extremely clean and nicely furnished and decorated. Summary: The cottage was just as advertised and Karen was always available and accommodating. Our pup was so happy and enjoyed the spacious side yard and laying on the deck and staring out on the water. Some days were very hot and it was wonderful to have the water to cool off in. Our kids loved kayaking and playing on the water. Thank you for sharing your property! Would love to return to this little gem :)

Summary: Karen was a dream host! The property was very clean and well equipped. Having the two kayaks available was great. My only criticism has to do with with the Plattsburgh area, which left me underwhelmed.

Summary: Myself, my husband and our 2 kids (ages 8 & 11) had a wonderful stay at this cottage. The location is great right next to a lovely state park with a beach and nice hiking trails for the kids. The view over Lake Champlain is amazing! You can see the mountains in Vermont and it's just beautiful. We also enjoyed using the kayaks. We took day trips to Ausable Chasm, the Lake Placid area and Burlington, VT via the ferry. Karen was great to work with and very responsive. We would definitely stay again!

Summary: My husband and I and our two teenage boys and our dog truly enjoyed the stay. The cottage is very clean and cozy. It has everything you need. The kayaks were huge bonus for my boys. The best part is the breathtaking view! We could never get tired of it. The owner was very helpful and easy to communicate with. It was hard for all of us to leave. We're already talking about going back there next summer. Can't wait!

Summary: My husband, dog, and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay here! From the beginning to the end- Karen was easy to work with and very easy to communicate with. She reached out with helpful information and responded back fast as well. We even got to meet her one day when she was at the property next door and she was super nice. The views were amazing, they did not disappoint. The house was equipped with everything you need. Towels, hand soap, dish detergent, all pots/pans, plates and cutlery, some spices and oil, chairs outside. The TV is a smart TV and you can log into your streaming sites. Plus much more. The neighborhood was great too. There’s a lot to do close by. My husband went on a fishing trip with a guide, we hiked at the state park a few minutes away, we took the ferry over to Burlington, VT, and we checked out the local ice cream place (only 7 minutes away, The Happy Pike). It was a great, relaxing stay!!

Summary: Karen's cottage was absolutely perfect for our weekend away! We loved watching the sunrise over the beautiful view of the Vermont mountains every morning :) It was amazing being able to take our dog for hikes at Pointe Au Roche State Park just down the road from the cottage. 10/10 would recommend!

Summary: This was the perfect property for our long weekend! Exceptionally clean, comfortable and with all of the basics that one would need. Fall asleep to the sound of the waves! No traffic, no sirens, no planes and no trains- peace and quiet-a nice break from city life. Great communication from the owners as well. Gorgeous views of the lake and Point Au Roche State Park is 5 minutes away for hiking around the lake. Whiteface Mountain and Lake Placid only an hour away, an easy side trip. We would definitely visit again.
