The Cane Cutter's Cottage is an idyllic retreat sleeping 2, quiet and peaceful, just 5 minutes away from the hustle of Airlie Beach and a million miles away in ambiance and relaxation. Completely private with its own driveway, you won't even see another house!
Enjoy your own small house, fully equipped with attention to detail, quality linens, pillow choices, loads of towels, a full kitchen, coffee machine, air fryer, plus baby Weber bbq for outdoor dining in balmy tropical nights, with the scents of the frangipani and sounds of the rainforest.
Where else can you watch wallabies while having breakfast and enjoy a luxuriant tropical garden with birds and butterflies, all to yourselves?
The cottage has one bedroom with a Queen bed accomodating 2. A roll-away bed is also available for a child on request/ cost. Infants welcome at no cost with own bedding.
Transport options are available, however while a car isn't essential, there is so much to see around the Whitsundays we do recommend a car rental - it would be a shame to miss out on off-the-beaten-track beach bars and restaurants that we can tell you about, rainforest walks and other interesting places to explore.
Our little award-winning heritage is located on a quiet country property, You have your own private driveway to come and go as you like. And the main shopping centre is just a minute away.
The Cottage is over 115 years old and was fully restored using all the original building materials to create a new kitchen and bathroom. It has recently been featured in a Pan MacMillan book of iconic Australian buildings and is used for photographic shoots and as an event/wedding venue.

This 1 Bedroom House provides accommodation with Balcony/Terrace, Sports/Activities, Entertainment, for your convenience. Summary: After 2 weeks living in our campervan as we trekked up the Qld east coast this place was the perfect reprieve. Quiet location only 10 minutes from Airlie, set back in a quiet semi rural property. There was plenty of room to park our camper. The place itself was quaint and comfortable. Everything was clean and the cottage was well appointed. Priced perfectly in what is an other expensive area. The owners were helpful and unobtrusive. Would recommend.

Summary: Absolutely loved our stay at the Cane Cutters Cottage-what a property and what an escape! Definitely need to hire a car for convenience in and out of town and if you’re looking to explore the wider area, I would definitely recommend it! So many amazing places to go and see! There is a local bus service but the last stop is at the shops and then, although it’s not a super long walk (or ride) to the cottage- it’s a main road with no edges and at night, no street lights- so not really suitable for pedestrians. Suzette was amazing- super helpful and contactable, with some great local recommendations. The Cottage was comfortable and fit with everything you need. We loved relaxing in the cottage and reading our books on the balcony. We hope to stay one day again in the future! Thankyou so much for such a great escape, Suzette. Luke & Maddy :)

Summary: Wonderful historical cabin in a quiet location close to Airlie Beach. Host did a great job refurbishing the cabin. Very cozy and functional. Very well stocked for our three night stay.

Summary: Secluded tropical paradise! Although the fitout is a little dated it is full of old world charm. We loved the original features and the spacious deck which allowed us to sit outside even in a rain storm.
