Positive: The cottage is quaint, cozy and equipped with everything you need. We loved being right on the lake with an abundance of birdlife and beautiful views. The location is perfect - quiet and scenic but close enough to Himeville and Underberg for easy access to shops and restaurants.

Positive: Accommodation was great. Setting was very pretty and tranquil. Bird life was lovely. Braai facility was good. Load shedding wasn't a problem as the inverter kicked in and allowed for some electrical points to work. The cottage is comfortable and cosy, and I wouldn't suggest booking for more than 4 pax at any one time. It is very accessible from the main road.
Negative: We chose the venue as it had a trout dam, and the cottage was next to the water making access to fishing easy. The fishing was very poor with not even one fish being spotted rising. A huge May-fly hatch didn't produce one rise - raising questions as to the fish population of the dam. The weather may have played a role as it was inclement and the water was not clear. We chose this venue for the trout-fishing which was disappointing - although the owners suggested the dam is well stocked so maybe it was just bad timing. The mosquitoes were a problem at night in the room. The fan a little inadequate to chase them away. The Jacuzzi was not functioning. To the owners' credit we were informed that they were trying to repair it. The Quad bike that is used for transporting the staff around the farm was very noisy and annoying - especially on a quiet Sunday morning - and all day on the Saturday when it wasn't raining.
Summary: A pleasant experience in a beautiful setting with an enthusiastic host.

Negative: The blinds in the main bedroom were transparent but really not a big issue at all.
Summary: A beautiful cottage for a weekend away with friends close to anything you’d need and equipped with all you could need.

Positive: A perfect hideaway with great privacy, sill close enough to nice restaurants and shopping facilities, great starting point to hike in the Drakensberge!

Positive: The hostess was most friendly and helpful. She made sure the cottage was nice and warm when we arrived and the snacks she provided (fruits, muffins, juice, milk and yoghurts) was a nice touch. Excellent service.
