Quaint and cozy ~ bright and beautiful - this cottage is located in a gated community only steps to the private beach.
Very clean and well-appointed with beautiful decor and amenities.
Everything inside of cottage is like new. Sunny with bamboo flooring, upscale furnishings and modern appliances including 42' HDTV, Cable TV, Wi-Fi, Stove, Oven, Microwave, Dishwasher, Coffee Maker, Washer/Dryer and Barbeque. All dishes, pots, pans, silverware, utensils and linens (sheets, blankets and towels) are supplied.
Gorgeous private beach with drinks and food allowed. Take a long walk, do some crabbing in between rocks and enjoy the sun and breezes. Views of Block Island and just minutes to the ferry to get there. Enjoy daylight or nightlife in Newport (25 minutes away), Providence (40 minutes away) and Mystic, CT (50 minutes away.) The cottage is also within reasonable driving distance to Casinos and University of Rhode Island.
Great fishing and water sports -- it's a haven for surfers (watch them or join them!) Excellent area for walking, running, swimming and sightseeing.
Restaurants including the infamous Spain Restaurant are close by. Italian, Asian, Pubs, Bistros, Tapas, Hamburger Joints, Pizza, the infamous Coast Guard House, Breakfast Nooks and the best seafood the East Coast has to offer (Georges is a good choice among many.) Dough Boys and Clam Chowder right around the corner. Many other restaurants close by.
A barbeque is located on the home's roomy back patio with outdoor furniture. The yard is the largest in the village providing lots of room to enjoy the outdoors.

Summary: We really enjoyed this stay. The house was clean and had a good beach feel. It was in walking distance of the private beach and Judith point light house. Not tons of traffic in the area made it easy to walk outside. Great sea food options with in a close drive.

Summary: The location is perfect! The house looks like the owner has not put enough effort at maintaining it. Armoires in the bedrooms have drawers that are falling apart. Mess of towels and sheets in many of the drawers, and inside the armoires, a bag of someone's clothes under the sink, no can opener, mold in the outdoor shower and outside the house (a power wash?) Don't know I would want to rent there unless some changes are made.

Summary: Not ideal for winter and cold weather. When I arrived, patio where the key to enter home is located was covered in ice. Owner did not see fit to think of throwing salt for my safety & couldn’t get any salt or anyone down there to do it. Lots of wind coming into the house from the back door. Then toilet was flooded. Wasted the whole day for a repair man to come fix it and when he came I didn’t hear him knock the door (apparently), he saw my car there, so he left and would not come back (at that point I had enough) owner agreed to refund the rest of my stay and I went to a hotel. Also, the extra bed covers smelled like weed. Owner lives out of state and isn’t able to take care of problems in the winter (and there were many because of the weather). Flooding in the area may have caused the toilet to overflow.

Summary: Even though the weather wasn’t the best in January, the location was perfect for area restaurants & local sights. Narragansett Beach with its beautiful boardwalk, ocean views and Coast Guard Restauant were wonderful spots to visit. Also drove to Watch Hill and walked its expansive, level shoreline even in the mist. Charlestown Breachway was spectacular in any weather - great sea air and the wind almost blew us off the rocks - always an adventure. The cottage was the perfect size for us - 2 adults, tucked away in the village and very quiet. I would recommend traveling to it in daylight, even with GPS, it was tricky to find in the dark. Also a trip to the Chamber of Commerce off Rt 1 in Westerly, would supply the cottage with ample maps of the area and info of upcoming event. It would be extremely helpful for future guests and would be incredibly welcomed. Jain Gavin
