ILLAWONG LODGE BY THE SEA is situated just meters from the water edge, the Lodge sits on a beautiful natural parkland with uninterrupted inlet views to Port Albert & Wilsons Promontory. This self-catered holiday accommodation is of generous proportions: commercial size kitchen & dinning, lounge room, conference room, game room, 12 bedrooms & 5 bathrooms. The modern two-level building licensed up to 60 people is ideally suited to large gatherings of all types be it family, social club, scout/girl guides/church camps, educational facility, corporate retreat or conference centre. Established native grounds with sufficient area for most outdoor activities.
Only a leisurely 2.5 hours drive from Melbourne. Area attractions including Wilsons Promontory and Tarra Bulga Nationals Parks, Ninety Mile Beach.
The Lodge:
10 Bedrooms each with a double bunk bed sleeps up to 40 people
2 Dormitories each with 5 single bunk beds sleeps up to 20 people
We have clean fitted bed sheet on each bed. Pillow/Doona are not provided as part of the tariff, if needed there is an extra cost.
Upstairs:
- comfortable formal living zone with modern wood fireplace;
- 11 metres bay window capturing the best of sunrise and sunset;
- large glass balustrade sea facing entertaining deck with no view barrier
- commercial size kitchen with 3 cook-tops, 4 huge fridges and ample cookery/cutlery and cooking utensils;
- 2 custom made huge tables allowing maximum people dinning together plus an extendible dinner table;
- a huge game room contains a billiard table and a table-tennis table together with board games and dart board
Downstairs: a second living room/conference room with TV, DVD player, overhead projector with 100" auto screen and white board
Nearby Attractions: Wilsons Promontory National Park; Ninety Mile Beach; Tarra bulga National Park; Toora wind farm; Agnes falls
8m drive to Port Albert a fishing village with its quaint old house, maritime museum and boat launching facilities;
10m drive to Yarram for shops, cafe and Woolworth
Please contact owner for booking:
Minimum booking for 20 people, extra fee applies for additional people;
A security bond applies to every booking. Any damages to the house that exceed the bond amount are to be paid by the tenant. Bond will be returned as soon as the house is returned in a clean and tidy condition with no damage.
Please note that on departure we ask our guests to clean the property, put all rubbish in the bin outside the Lodge. We provided a 2 cleaners x 2 hour departure clean free of charge. We will be gifting free vouch for guests leaving the lodge clean. Guests will be charged for any extra cleaning hours required.

Summary: It is a kind of overpriced property. Can accommodate large group but cleanliness is not that good. Kitchen appliances are very old take long time to heat up. Had good time at the property but it could be better.

Summary: We had a lovely time this property. Our group had 27 altogether 9 families. Breath taking view of the su set. And not even 50m walk to the water. Couple of drawbacks no dishwasher such is really inconvenient with a large group. The room keys were not given so had issues with doors getting locked and not been able to open. Other than these two issues we had an awesome stay at this property.

Summary: The experience at the lodge was great. The building is well set out with many rooms and beds. The sports supplies that were provided were useful as well as the fridges and kitchen space. For a group of 25 adults, we were accommodated very well with lots of space to be together. The beds were comfy and the toilets and bathrooms clean. There isn’t much bench space in the bathrooms. Communication was good but we were a bit confused about why the manager was visiting the property so often to check on us - at times we didn’t feel that we were given complete privacy. This is something to be mindful of but did not effect our stay.

Summary: I booked this house for my family for our yearly summer getaway. The place was really nice and it had great sea views. The near by attractions were spectacular and scenery on that side is just magnificent. 
The house was clean and very accommodating. It is a bit of an old place so don’t expect something modern. There were few things that we were not happy about such as pillows/doonas were not provided and this was very inconvenient for my family to bring all the way from Melbourne - this took so much space in car. Also the downstairs showers and toilets were a bit stinky at times and I don’t think the fan worked as much. Besides these two points the place was great.

Summary: Our family of 4 and 5 other families stayed at this lodge over the Christmas holidays. There was ample space in the property for our group of 23 with ages ranging from 6 to 60. Overall we enjoyed our stay there. It's close to some nearby attractions and the view from the balcony is fabulous. There was ample space for indoor games and other indoor activites. We would definitely stay again at this place. It would have been nice if there was some way to monitor water usage as the property runs off in-ground rainwater tanks. We were rationing water use as we were afaid that we would run out of water! Some of the pots and pans need replacing too as they were rather worn out. Provision of a dishwasher in the kitchen would also be a nice addition.

Summary: It was an awesome holiday spent with the family and friends. The place was large enough to cater the crowd. Everyone was happy and kids had an awesome time. Kids loved the bunker beds too as they all could sleep in one room. The surroundings were beautiful and I guess it would be even better if it didn't rain so that we could spend more time on the beach. It would be great if pillows were supplied as we had to carry all pillows and doona.
