Positive: Close to the all the main shops and restaurants. However, there is no clear path from the road, you do have to climb rocks to get to the hotel.
Negative: The hotel itself is decent, but the check-in and check-out experience was unacceptable and I want other guests to be informed before they arrive. Both the hotel website and Booking.com listing clearly state that credit card payments are accepted. This is not true. Despite confirming with staff multiple times prior to arrival that I could pay by card, I was told on the day that it was not possible. This is a straightforward bait-and-switch and left me scrambling to arrange an alternative payment method at checkout. When I raised the issue with the manager, he was dismissive and contradicted himself repeatedly throughout our conversation. When I requested a receipt or invoice — a basic and reasonable ask — he refused to provide one. The property itself has good bones, but misrepresenting payment options and then handling the fallout this poorly is not acceptable. The listing needs to be updated immediately to reflect actual payment methods, and front-of-house staff need retraining on basic guest services. I would not return until these issues are addressed.

Positive: Rooms were new, clean and spacious with big window or balcony. In bathrooms everything worked properly and hot water was always available. There is kitchen and all meals we ordered were tasty. Stuff are friendly and helpful. Property is located in quiet spot between main streets with some distance from other hotels so it’s very quiet. There are many cafes and shops nearby although one needs to walk a few minutes along small pathways to reach them. Bhagsu waterfall is nearby. It is possible to walk to upper Dharamsala and the monastery of HH Dalai Lama (about half an hour).

Positive: Everything was amazing. The rooms, cleanliness, Akshay’s hospitality and especially the food. Had a great stay of 4 days here. Would be back for sure. Also, the hotel is a 5-10m walk from the main road, so a four wheeler won’t come right to the property. But I enjoyed the short trek to the property and the serene views completely make up for it.

Positive: Very clean and comfortable on western standards. Nice little terrasse. Equipment was good. Friendly staff. Nice location, close to everything yet very quiet. There are little tracks in all directions allowing quick access to both lower and upper Bhagsu.
Negative: Access can be an issue for some people. As of now there is no road coming all the way to the hostel, there are tracks which don't all appear on Google maps (they do on other apps though). If you have a suitcase be prepared to carry it for 5mins. Tip: when coming from lower Bhagsu, cross the bridge, follow the rocky road on the right, then go uphill on the right.
