3 Bedroom House in Vermilion

Very lovely, lakefront house with an all knotty pine interior, fireplace, very large master bedroom, well stocked kitchen, large living room/dining room, and in addition to the first floor master, we have 2 new large bedrooms up and 2 new baths. Charming, cozy and immaculate in a great lakeside neighborhood with neighborhood park and YMCA. Cozy in the winter and FABULOUS in the summer. Our home is charming, cozy and immaculate.
With a large, private backyard that abuts Lake Erie our house is perfect for “sitting” by the water and watching the truly great sunsets and sunrises over Lake Erie. There is a large park for the kids a short walk/bike ride down the street. Take a snooze and catch the afternoon trade winds, or open the windows at night and catch the wind and noise of the waves.
Conveniently located, it is 20 minutes from Cedar Point and the many Sandusky water parks (Kalahari, Great Wolf Lodge, Castaway Bay), 30 minutes to the ferry for the Lake Erie Islands and northern Ohio many wineries, 20 minutes to historic Milan/Norwalk Ohio (home of Thomas Edison), and 40 minutes to Cleveland’s Rock N’ Roll Hall of Fame, the Science Museum, Cleveland Indians, Browns, and Cavaliers, and the world famous Cleveland Orchestra, and Art and History museums.
There is fine shopping, restaurants, boat and kayak rentals and the quaint City of Vermilion - nationally recognized as one of the top beachfront vacation places in the United States by USA Today (complete with ice cream shoppe, naval museum, wonderful beaches and a 5 star French restaurant on the water) to visit.
So spend a day at Cedar Point, and come home to the quiet of the Lake for dinner and an evening of relaxing at the water. Go fishing in the morning, and then head into Milan in the afternoon for a taste of history. Head off for a day at the water parks and come back to a home cooked meal on the grill. Spend a day at the Rock N’ Roll Hall of Fame and visit the many sites of Cleveland (USS Mather, the USS Cod submarine, the many nightclubs in the Flats by the Cuyahoga River, the Science Museum, or catch an Indians game) (Cleveland really is a great city) and come home to a night of catching fireflies in the backyard, or a trip into Vermilion for ice cream or just a peaceful sunset at the water. The combinations and possibilities are endless.

Also available - a large one bedroom mirror image house that is located next door (our house is a duplex) which is great for family gatherings/reunions - particularly grandparents. If you would like to rent both units the weekly price is $2800 (Maximum occupancy is 8). Our house is also about 60 minutes from the Cleveland Clinic - it is a perfect, peaceful place for family members or for the patient' s peaceful recuperation.

Summary: I live less than 10 miles from the cottage but wanted a place where I could spend a few days with my sisters, brother in-law and husband. This was a great place for a winter retreat. The cottage was so cozy and had everything we needed. We watched movies, played games, worked puzzles and took advantage of the pool table. The bank of windows gave us a great view of the lake and we enjoyed watching ducks, birds and squirrels come to the feeders on the property. Kate was a terrific host and bent over backwards to insure our visit was perfect. The cottage is perfect for our winter getaway.

Summary: Cleaner than any hotel! We are OCD clean freaks and this place exceeded our standards in most ways! The beds were unbelievably comfortable. The view was just lovely and perfectly relaxing. I took my 85 year mother, who’s had both knees replaced and 2 back surgeries and she was so comfortable on the first floor. Excellent lighting with nightlights everywhere needed. The bathrooms were beautiful and clean! The host and her husband popped in a few days into our stay to pickup sticks after windy days and were so welcoming. The shelves and drawers were stocked with puzzles games and all kitchen and bathroom basics. Just opt for a season without midges! 😇

Summary: Can’t say more than everyone else has commented. Kate was wonderful to work with. House perfect. Everything you would need. Location great. Ruth’s little grocery store across street has plenty of stock. Friendly people. Many of the places Kate recommended to eat we checked out and were not disappointed. Book your stay!

Summary: Views were amazing, neighborhood quiet. Master bedroom was well appointed and comfortable. Loved having two tables inside the home, and, of course, more tables outside for extra seating and room for board games and puzzles. Fully equipped with all the accessories of home. As a senior I would suggest a few helpful add-ons upstairs; mirror in each bedroom upstairs to eliminate bathroom congestion and blinds in one bedroom that doesn't currently have them. Bathroom: a shower caddy, and perhaps a folding, portable shower chair for ease of transition for older family members. Either lower shower curtain or purchase a weighted curtain so it doesn't billow out while showering; this would prevent water from going on the floor outside of the shower. Very minor upgrades will only improve this very lovely home. Special home and I will return in the future. Tranquility at its finest.

Summary: We enjoyed our stay in this beautiful home situated right on the shores of Lake Erie. We just sat in the breeze and the sun and soaked up the peace. The home was clean and generous in size. We had family visit and they all loved it. Thanks for the memories. We will hopefully be back.
