Summary: We enjoyed our stay and the short distance to the coast and access for our daily hikes. The hosts were welcoming and communication was good, especially during rescheduling due to covid travel restrictions. We enjoyed watching the lighthouse beam outside at night, and the stars were excellent. Thanks for a nice stay!

Summary: The cottage, its owner, and manager all top notch, warm and helpful. This was everything I hoped for for my getaway, solitude retreat. The cottage had everything I needed including a blender. Morning tea and meditation on the front porch were delightful. The magnificent walking/hiking trails, sand dunes, cliffs and sunsets, just a 5-minute stroll from the front door were breathtaking. The whole place is blissfully peaceful! Do be advised, if you are sensitive to artificial fragrance, all the linens, towels and bedding are heavy in laundry detergent/fabric softener perfumes. I spoke to the manager about this, and hopefully they will switch to a healthier, fragrance-free brand, so if you're sensitive like me, check on the current status of that before booking. All in all, this is definitely the sweetest gem of a spot I have found on the Portuguese coastline!

Summary: The quiet, rural setting was exactly what I was looking for. Fields, dirt paths, little trails leading to the ocean. Great access to the Rota Vicentina - lighthouse to the south and varied habitats to the North. At this time of year (February) it is damp and cool but it was warm if you sat next to the fireplace and extra blankets were provided. Our host provided firewood and set up the fireplace but some fire building skill is a good idea if you come this time of year.

Summary: This little house has everything one needs for a relaxing time-out. Beds are comfortable, the fireplace great, kitchen fully outfitted and the attention of the owner, Vitanello, is excellent. Sandy beaches are 10 to 25 minutes away by car, the small beach directly near the house accessible by steps. One does need a car to enjoy more of the southwest of Portugal. Summary: We loved our stay at Cavaleiro, my husband more than I. The house was comfortable and quiet except for the amazing sound of ocean waves! This house is right on the Fisherman's Trail and a three minute walk to amazing ocean cliffs. They were harvesting in the field across the road and our host shared the yummy purple sweet potatoes with us. The small town, also a short walk, has a great Nepalese restaurant where we enjoyed a great meal. In this, the third week of our Portugal adventure, I came down with an upper respiratory issue and we found an urgent care and pharmacy in the beautiful town of Odemira, a 20 minute drive. We would recommend this house as a great spot from which to explore this area of the country.

Summary: If you look for a quiet place with direct access to a beach a lot of privacy but with a nice restaurant and a small supermarket in walking distance Directly located at the Rota Vicentina With a beautiful terrace full equipped kitchen clean and spacious rooms than this is the place to go - you will get sun sets and downs on top

Summary: We loved our stay in this property. The house is quite small but it has all the necessary amenities. It even has a fireplace with came in very handy for cold March evenings. The location is amazing, less than 5 minutes walk to the ocean on the spectacular coast of Alentejo. The amazing Ruta Vincentina track passes literally outside the door. If I could make s suggestion, in would be nice to have some trees/hedge on the side of the road. To have more privacy and some protection from the wind. But I am not sure if it is possible. We had a great 2 weeks and would not hesitate to stay again.
