Positive: We were looking for a cheap option when we found this one. I was a bit afraid because of the low rating on here but it wasn't that bad at all! The staff was incredibly nice, the check in and check out was easy. We ended up getting a room with 2 double beds instead of single ones, which were very comfortable. It's nice that the room had a kettle and a lot of coffee and tea. For a short stay it was pleasant and worth the price.
Negative: I wouldn't say the room was dirty because everything was clean in the literal sense, but it was dirty looking. The old furniture had stains on them and the bathroom looked poorly taken care of as well. The door was weird, it always got stuck on the carpet when we tried to open it. Night lamps and a few glasses to drink water from would have been nice. And an AC too.

Positive: Positives: 1) I got my refund back within three banking days. 2) there is free parking on the driveway or main road :-). 3) There is a bathroom outside of the rooms although I think it needs to be checked regularly for items such as cleaning fluids and toilet paper. 4) There is a kettle in the shared kitchen. The shower gives out hot water with the temperature variation available. The bed was comfortable. The rooms where clean and there were clean towels not bath sheet size. 5) The staff were polite. The TV worked. I didn't have reason to use their internet but connection details were provided Thank you Woodlands, for a comfortable overnight stay.
Negative: Negatives: 1)I should have been more thorough in reading the small print. But I was making these arrangements set some speed. I did note the £100 refundable fee which had to be paid before I could get my accommodation. I accepted this since the previous place I had looked at wanted a refundable fee of £350 - that was definitely a shocked to my systems! 2) my room was one room in the house which required me to carry my suitcase up some fairly steep stairs. A lift would have been lovely but I don't think the premises suitable to have one fitted. 3) tea, coffee, sugar, cups, spoon are not provided. Neither is there a hook in the bathroom to hang a robe on.

Positive: I liked that it was really close to the station as they actually moved us to York hotel when we arrived.
Negative: I didn't like arriving after a long journey and then being told we had to go to a different hotel as there was some maintenance issues, I'm sure we could have been informed of this earlier. Especially as the York Hotel that we were moved to had no parking when woodlands lodge did.
Summary: It's very basic, the staff barely speak English, took 3 weeks to get the deposit back, no loo roll

Positive: Overall, I had a very good experience staying at Woodlands Lodge. Everything was fine except for the the matter where I couldn't use the same bank card which I used for booking the room on booking.com for the deposit security. I had only £65 cash with me right that moment and I had to run to a cash point to get the cash. That was little disappointing. Other than that everything was fine to me, and the staff were friendly too. Not making any fuzz on little things. The room was clean, spacious and comfortable. I had stayed there few times already and would go there again in the future when I am visiting London. Another positive thing about the lodge is that it had enough space to park my 7 seater. Thank you very much 😊
Negative: A kettle, tea and sugar could have been provided and chair in the room is desirable too. I would recommend that security deposit should be taken at the time of booking, so that guests don't have to feel stressed at the time of arrival. This way, the Woodland Lodge can make the total ambience little more pleasant. Thank you very much indeed 😊
