For those who take the road less traveled, stay at our nostalgic retreat on the Pere Marquette River. Accessible year-round and centrally located yet secluded, Wood's & Water Cabin sits the Pere Marquette River. A rare property surrounded only by few private residences, Wood's & Water Cabin lives up to its name. Plenty of space for your whole family, and you can even bring an RV (or two!), with two exterior electric RV electric hookups. Relax among the outdoor spaces, unwind on the porch watching the many birds and wildlife, gather ‘round the fire pit, explore the river, get cozy by the fireplace, and discover your special place to truly get away. This is the prime fishing area and even has it's own kayak or canoe landing right on the river!
The space
Wood's & Water Cabin is a riverfront property in the heart of the Manistee National Forest. Enjoy total privacy and seclusion while being convenient to Branch and Ruby Creek.
Enjoy our private yet year-round accessible cabin with 2 bedrooms (king bed in bedroom 1, and queen bed in bedroom 2) + full sleeper sofa in living room and a futon in the four seasons room. The two bedrooms sleep 4 adults very comfortably and the Full pull out sleeper sofa sleeps 2, as well as the futon. We pride ourselves in providing quality linens and bedding on top of our 5-star mattresses and pillows.. you won’t want to leave! Let the river rock you to sleep in the Four Seasons Room. The property also hosts 2 Electric RV hookups! Down the road from Ruby Creek Tavern or River City Inn, but is the ideal cabin to escape from the hustle and bustle of town.
With easy access year-round (even in the Winter - plowed roads to and from cabin), you can enjoy all 4 seasons! Hiking, fishing, kayaking, tubing, sightseeing, swimming, canoeing and even snowmobiling in the winter are all things to enjoy at Woods & Water. Enjoy total privacy, the convenience of its central location, and the river all at the same time!
Perfect for a honeymoon, family vacation, or just a peaceful escape, the cabin features a back porch and riverfront fireplace where you can unwind and listen to the river. Outside, there is seating with views of the river, an outdoor dining table on the porch, all weatherproof outdoor furniture, expansive areas to fish, outdoor propane gas grill for cookouts, and a fire pit + benches to enjoy time together telling stories and making s'mores!

Summary: We rafted the river, caught some brown trout, watched the kingfishers dive for fish. Cooked our fish in the well equipped kitchen, slept in super comfy beds, and had a wonderful time!

Summary: My family and I really enjoyed our stay at the Woods & Water Cabin. The setting was just beautiful and we loved just sitting in the spacious sun room watching the birds and the river. The cabin was spotless and was stocked with all incidentals we needed. The hosts were fabulous and quickly answered questions. We even rented kayaks that were dropped off right to the cabin. We hope to return soon!

Summary: Stayed at this property with two friends for a fishing weekend. We had a fantastic stay. The online description was very accurate. Everything was really great but I will list a few of the highlights. - Beautiful riverside setting. You can hear the river flowing from inside. Plenty of room to spread out and enjoy the riverside space. - The property seemed to be completely refreshed very recently. The indoor space was updated and all linens, appliances, grill also seemed brand new. - Property manager provided a very thorough and useful guide to the property in advance. I have never had this from other rental properties and you don’t realize how nice it is until you experience it. - Property manager was accommodating to early check-in. They were very responsive. - We plan to stay again next year. Two notes/suggestions: - The street did not seem to be very well identified. We had a bit of trouble finding the last turn to get to the property. - There is one neighbor that shares the riverfront. Their property is a good distance away and the folks were very friendly. There is also another neighbor a ways down the river and through a bog area. We spoke with them as they canoed down the river. They were also very friendly and shared with us that they would be enjoying themselves and some louder music into the evening. They did deliver on this pledge. It did not disrupt our experience but may not be as serene as some visitors would look for.
