Yew Cottage is a large luxuriously refurbished cottage located beside NewCastle Village, Co. Wicklow in the Garden of Ireland. The property is part of an old courtyard complex which has been recently renovated. The property is on one level and comprises Large Living and Open Plan kitchen area. There are two bedrooms, one large Master suite and one one slightly smaller double bedroom. There is a large very comfortable bathroom (shower only - no bath). The property sleeps four persons comfortably. Equipped with WIFI and TV's.
The property is located on a working farm and beside the Birdwatch Nature Reserve in Co. Wicklow. Located in North Wicklow and literally 20 minutes from South County Dublin, it is an ideal base for exploring the surrounding area, 40 minutes from the Centre of Dublin and 10 minutes from the village of Greystones to the North and 10 mins from the town of Wicklow. The Wicklow National Park , Glendalough, the Powerscourt Estate, Kilruddery are all within easy driving distance. Druid's Glen Golf Course is less than a 5 minute drive away and there are at least 10 other golf course within a 10 minute drive. The beach is a 10 minute walk from the farm, half a mile. Other amenities close by include horse riding/polo/ cycling/ walking/ sailing. The farm is located close to where the Vikings TV series is being shot.
The farm has been restored and the target is to make it as environmentally friendly as possible and re-introduce native wild life and plants that had previously been wiped out by industrial farming.
There is an additional cottage (Swallow Cottage) on site, which can accommodate 5 further guests. Extremely private and secure.
Well behaved pets are welcome.

Summary: My husband and I stayed at black ditch for six nights and enjoyed a very comfortable modern with rustic touches two bedroom, two bathroom apartment in the countryside of Newcastle. Beautiful property close to the sea, a short drive to Castle Inn where we enjoyed a delicious dinner. We also had a lovely roast lunch at Hunters Inn. The kitchen at black ditch was well equipped and every night we enjoyed a wood fire. There was also a washer and dryer. It was ideal and we would highly recommend the place.

Summary: From initial booking through changing dates and during the stay nothing was too much trouble. The property and the location were superb with so much to do in the area. Travel into Dublin was easy using the Dart.

Summary: We had a really relaxing stay on Blackditch farm. Everything, the place, the surroundings and the interior is very beautifully arranged. The communication with the owners was really easy as well. We would definitely love to stay again and highly recommend you to spend your holidays here if you’re looking for a calm and beautiful place located in the scenic Wicklow county.

Summary: This is a special place. Circle of stones, petrified bog wood garden sculptures, beautiful gardens, adjacent bird sanctuary, walking through the bird sanctuary to the shores of the Irish Sea. This not just a vacation rental. It is an experience. Quiet. Peaceful. Calming. The accommodations were clean and in working order, many items provided for. The owner is a generous soul.

Summary: Can not recommend this cottage highly enough. It is a beautifully newly renovated property in gorgeous private surroundings. The Wicklow Mountains and Gardens are impressive but coming back to Yew Cottage every day was a highlight. From the cosy log burning stove to the outside terrace with BBQ , big table, and views of countryside it was all joyful. Angela could not have been more helpful and her dogs were great.

Summary: Fabulous place with amazing views, A piece of nature's paradise. Beautiful walks and close to quaint little villages and coastal areas with coffee shops , restaurants etc. Hosts lovely, helpful but very respectful of your privacy. Accommodation excellent, very tastefully decorated. Truly a home away from home. (also great for well behaved doggies!)

Summary: Really great location and fantastic place! Absolutely everything you could need... even down to milk and butter in the fridge :) Also really is "dog friendly" not just "dogs allowed" my Suki loved being able to roam free!
