Summary: Greeting party were very informative and welcome package was greatly appreciated. House, grounds and village are very rustic and a great way to experience how things once were. It should be noted that the location is a couple km up a very winding and narrow roadway, that leads through other small villages, but once you get comfortable it is a very unique experience. Highly recommend this location for above reasons.

Summary: We really enjoyed staying in Chiara's lovely family home. It was clean, well looked after and had just about everything you could want. It didn't feel like a holiday home, much too interesting for that, with its decorated ceilings and solid furniture. We cooked and ate in the garden most nights and thoroughly enjoyed it. The beds were comfortable and the house is spacious. There were only two of us but plenty of room for six. We also enjoyed the fact that it is in a Tuscan village, not far from the main tourist sites but far enough to feel like Tuscany! Pistoia is a lovely city and has a fabulous daily market. There are also several shops in Le Piastre itself to buy daily essentials, which we found very convenient. Thank you Chiara.

Summary: Spent four nights in Chiara's wonderful & very spacious home on two main levels in Le Piastre, a little village near the town of Pistoia. The house had everything that we needed - comfortable beds, great bathroom facilities, a well equipped & large kitchen, as well as two wonderful sitting rooms. In the village we could obtain the basics such as milk, bread & a morning coffee. If you want to make full use of the well equipped kitchen, then there is a large supermarket in Pistoia. For the 3 full days that we were there we spent a day in Pistoia, a day in Florence ( by train from Pistoia is very easy), & our final day visiting several villages/towns near Le Piastre. Chiara was quick & efficient in providing us with any advice or information that we needed.

Summary: Stayed here for 2 weeks as a family of 5 (adult children). The house is half way up into the mountains, which means that it is easy to get to both the mountains and the cities. The location is convenient for Pisa, Lucca, Pistoia and Florence. As Brits, we particularly appreciated the cooler nights that are experienced in Le Piastre compared with the lower regions! The village has a few shops and the grocery store halfway down the main road has a great selection of local cheeses, meats and olives. Leo's pizza, just down the road, is also convenient for the days you don't want to cook. The house is 19th century, yet has all you need for a holiday. The painted ceilings are particularly special. Beds were comfy. The drive is a little tricky to get on to with a larger car (we had a VW Touran) but we soon learnt the best way to reverse onto it. I would recommend a car, though there are frequent buses into Pistoia and further into the mountains so it may be possible to stay here without a car. Although we did not meet Chiara in person (as she was on vacation too), we had good communication and she was able to resolve a couple of minor issues really quickly despite being remote. Overall, I thoroughly recommend this property.

The local cafe bar provided excellent food and drink. the village proved an ideal base for travelling around for cultural and culinary pursuits! We very much enjoyed our stay in the house and the village.

Summary: We went as a group of 5 women, 2 older (70's), 2 younger (20's & early 30's) and me in the middle at 50 and we had so much room in this house it was fantastic. The 4 bathrooms were perfect so that no one ever had to wait, we had plenty of hot water and on a couple of those days we walked 10 miles, the tub was marvelous at the end of a long day. The only issue we had was my mother falling in one of the bathrooms since there is a step down from where the toilet is located to the sink (and that is the case in 2 of the 4 bathrooms). We rented a car and backing out of the driveway can be challenging since it's such a narrow street and a dip down at the end, and kitchen is what I would call adequate, although we never cooked any meals while we were there. The most we used it for was the refrigerator (which is very nice) and the stove to heat some pizza up. WE LOVED Bar Margarita in the mornings for great coffee and sandwiches to start our day and the pizza place close by was pretty good too, but they do not speak much English so we ended up with cold pizza that needed to be heated up. Overall, I would absolutely stay in this villa again on my next trip to Tuscany since I did love the fact it was 10 minutes down the mountain to Pistoia where we took the train for our longer day trip into Rome and when we arrived, we came from Venice and took the train into Florence where we picked up our car. We drove to Cinque Terre, Florence, Lucca, Volterra and although it took a little getting used to the circles everywhere, had few issues on that point. I enjoyed driving through Tuscany. On our trip to Cinque Terre, we drove to La Spezia and took to the train to Monterosso, and then hiked to Vernazza from there, one of my most memorable points of the entire trip. It's breathtaking to see. And last but not least is Chiara, she was very attentive and was easy to communicate with while we were there, although not having someone who spoke English greet us was a little challenging! We understood that her daughter's birthday definitely was more important. I think this villa could easily fit several couples looking to travel together, plus some children with them and it would be quite easy. Comfortable beds, pillows not so much, but a good price for the beauty and size of the home. It's decorated nicely and very comfortable. Thanks for a beautiful home base for our amazing trip to Italy!

Summary: Two families, including 4 teenagers, used this lovely and large home for a base for a week in Tuscany. The road up to Piastre is fairly long and windy, but it always felt like coming home when we arrived. We all slept comfortably and soundly in the peaceful quiet of this small town. We enjoyed the Amalfi restaurant down the street. There are many different areas in the house for people to gather, or to find a quiet corner. There was room for two average size cars to park. The kitchen was sufficiently equipped and spacious for cooking. The home was even nicer than the description. All in all, a very lovely place to stay.
