Positive: Apartment was great: clean, big, has all necessary amenities. Close to local jr station.

Negative: First It’s was difficult to find: location on the map in Booking.com is wrong. Different apps give different results depending on language used. Then, code to enter the building only was given after email request on site, despite advance registration. Then it was a quest to enter apartment. Monitor which we suppose to be using to get access to the apartment was broken, and that happened at least a week ago and was still going on when we left. So we were trying to call, and email. The only number we were able to reach connected to the person with limited English and after 15 minutes she still wasn’t able to give us apartment number and code to it. One of the guests was nice to help us, as they had same problem before, and call to a different number, which we didn’t know, as they booked this accommodation on the different platform, and get info we needed.

Summary: It’s a great place to stay if you will be able to get in.

Positive: Breakfast was good. Location was great. There is some outstanding maintennce on the property, especially the exterior and in the public/private baths. This needs attention.

Summary: A very nice hotel. Management/owners need to invest in maintenance.

Positive: The rooms were really nice and we appreciated the possibility of sharing a small private bath rather than going to the large public onsen. The futons were unexpectedly comfortable!

Positive: The bedroom was spacious with a spectacular view of the snowy conditions. The private and public baths were excellent. The breakfast buffet and evening set meals were all outstanding. The staff did their best to help me in English. There is a convenience style shop open 24 hours which is great as there is nothing else nearby the hotel. The specially prepared mochi should be ordered for departure! Yum.

Negative: Although I wrote to the property, and received a positive reply about a shuttle bus meeting my train, it was not there on my arrival. Another hotel company driver phoned to the hotel to call for it. The hotel is up a very steep hill from the station so you need the shuttle. Some parts of the outside of the hotel look worn and tired and in need of repair after the winter.

Summary: Excellent onsen experience, with great food and views.

Positive: Fantastic place for our first experience in an Onsen. Staff was very friendly and going beyond language barriers they all helped us understand how everything was working. The room was so comfortable and beautiful. Traditional Japanese design with tatami mats, sliding paper doors, perfect relaxing lighting, a low table where we loved to have green tea, Yukata for men and women, loved their beautiful blue colors and traditional cut. So comfortable to go around in these. Breakfast was fantastic! And the water was so hot and rich! It was fabulous. There is a 24/7 shop open in the lobby, which was extremely convenient. The fact that the four private baths were available without reservation or additional fee made our life very easy. Nature around the resort was beautiful, very much worth going on a hike. Another plus is the free shuttle from and to the station. Last tip: don’t miss the chestnut mochis made to order the day before. To die for!

Negative: We are not aware of the breakfast is buffet type and staff just bring us to the table. We waited for a while and just aware it when we went to get the drink since the drink is self service at dinner time. Unlike other onsen hotels, you need to prepare the bed yourself for tatami room.
