Positive: Front desk staff was very helpful in introducing hotel facilities and making us feel welcomed. Our room came with a view of the Yuze gorge and the multiple onsens had great views of the Yuze Gorge or the tranquil forest.

Negative: Besides the onsens and great views, we were looking forward to hiking along the Gorge and experiencing the outdoor scenic flora and fauna. Unfortunately the warning to beware of bears attacking scared us from venturing too far.

Positive: The dinner was amazing - there was a station where the staff prepares a small dish on the spot for you. The onsen was eye-opening to say the least. It is located beside a stream / forest, and it was refreshing to soak in the onsen while listening to the stream flow by.

Positive: The room with private onsen was great. The buffet have local cuisine and breakfast was also have a wide spread. Definitely a place for you to enjoy and relax. They also provide free ride from the bus stop to the hotel directly. You can also book a private bath directly at the hotel if the room type don’t come with it at an additional cost.

Negative: Location is quite far and probably autumn will have a better view.

Summary: Great value with private onsen.

Positive: The private open air bath. The size of the room. The staff was very nice, helpful and professional.

Negative: Hard to access without a car. Not a lot to do around the resort.

Positive: This was a great place to stay. The staff were super friendly, the welcome lounge is very comfortable and the baths are so relaxing. The rooms are a really good size and look out over the river. The buffet style dinner and breakfast are delicious with a wide range to choose from.

Negative: Nothing to really note. Perhaps keep the fire on in the lobby during winter as it’s nice to sit and do some work there.

Summary: Awesome winter getaway that is a must if you’re anywhere near Akita.
