Positive: The location is very good. The accommodation is clean and has a new feel to it. Kettle is provided. Fridge. Cookware, mugs, etc. Heaters worked well (when there wasn’t a power cut). Warm water was readily available.
Negative: The biggest drawback was the power cut we experienced on our first night. It wasn’t particularly warm that day, so I really just needed to get warm. But the power had gone out, so we started our trip in a dark cabin with no heating. It wasn’t the owner’s fault of course, but I can’t help but think if it’s something that happens regularly, you should have some backup portable power stations to give to guests so they can at least boil the kettle. The other main issue for me was that the place seems to attract party people, which we are not. I’d had a long day at Suntago, had a migraine and all I wanted to do was go to sleep, but a couple of groups were playing music very loudly and were being generally loud drunks. The music was on until at least 3am. Even then I could hear music from another venue nearby until 5am. Absolute joke when we came away to relax in nature. I don’t know if the owner’s live off-site so they’re unaware how late people are making a noise. Either way, they need to realise that not everyone who stays wants to party; there should be a cutoff time after which music should be switched off. The owners also gave us some suspicious-looking homemade vodka which I didn’t touch. Giving alcohol to your guests is just spurring them on to get way too drunk and disturb people all night; I would’ve much preferred some things for breakfast in the cabin like pastries or even some fresh eggs. Maybe the party people would’ve gone to bed at 2am instead of 3 or 4am… There is no shop nearby, and we didn’t drive to Suntago, so having a shop on-site or an honesty pantry would be great for those of us who can’t just get in the car and go into town after a power cut spoils our food. Yes, they serve breakfast, but I wanted to prepare our own stuff that weekend. One small thing that bothered me is that the bed sheet did not fit the whole mattress. A good few inches of the mattress was exposed - which was clean thank god - but it’s so unhygienic!
Summary: A party-goers paradise. Avoid if you want peace and quiet.
