The Florida Panhandle is a large peninsula attached to the United States southeast. The Panhandle is the northwestern area of Florida that runs towards Alabama on the Gulf of Mexico.

Pensacola Beach
Considered by many to be one of the best beaches in America, Pensacola has three miles of white sand that are perfect for sunbathing or swimming. Pensacola Beach offers live entertainment and parasailing.

Fort Pickens State Park
Although not as large as other state parks, Fort Pickens is acclaimed for its historical significance during the civil war. Named one of Americas best beaches by Travel + Leisure Magazine, the park is perfect for biking, picnicking, bird watching and more.

Apalachicola
This small port town is bursting with charm, history, and friendly locals. The name of the town actually translates to Land of the Friendly People,and its locals still live up to that name.

St. George Island
St. George is a coastal island just 2.5 hours away from Tallahassee. St. George Island is perfect for those looking to indulge in the solitude of nature and endless white sand beaches.

Torreya State Park
Consistently rated as one of the most beautiful state parks in Florida by travel magazines, Torreya has over 10 miles of trails and a massive 300-foot canopy of old growth trees. The park is especially beautiful during the autumn months when its peaks are blanketed by fiery leaves.

Apalachicola National Forest
Located not far from Tallahassee, this national forest offers hiking trails through longleaf pine forests to pristine rivers and cypress swamps. Visitors can rent canoes or bicycles in the summertime.

The Emerald Coast
Nicknamed the Emerald Coast, this region of Florida encompasses both the gulf coast and some of the most popular beaches in America. Pensacola Beach is located on this stretch of Floridas coastline, as well as Panama City Beach and Destin.
