Positive: Authentic house with a lot of charm, clean and well kept. It is at 10min walk from Dogo Onsen. The kitchen as well as the rest of the house is well equipped and the host has left clear instructions everywhere to operate various appliances in the house.
Negative: Hard to stay as our experience was great and the host was very informative and helpful before and during the stay.
Summary: Great host and a perfect opportunity to stay at an authentic Japanese house near dogo onsen.

Positive: Exceptional clear information before arrival and well thought instructions everywhere in the house. Very sufficient facilities to use just as at home. Everything is handy and useful. Clean and tidy. Location is excellent, no matter by car or by public transportation. Secluded and private. Host is non-intrusively helpful.
Negative: Nothing because we do not expect great view from the house.
Summary: We are picky and demanding frequent travelers and we rate this house 10.

Positive: Good location in a quiet area close to dogo onsen and the arcade. Futons and pillows were comfy and the heated mat under the table was nice. Clean. Probably most worth it if you are a group of 3-4.
Negative: In terms of the overall vibe, it kind of felt like visiting your parents' or grandparents' house (not because of the Japanese-style room -- we love tatami mats, shoji screens, futons), but the other parts of the house like the dining room gave off this vibe. A few little things that would go a long way for guests (especially guests with long hair) are having bigger and more plush shower towels, and having full-size bottles of shampoo and conditioner available in the shower. (Towels were small and shampoo only came in a single-use packet.) Changing out the overhead lightbulbs for warmer (more yellow-toned) lights would also help the space feel more cozy. We found the bright white overhead lights to be too harsh, even though they could be dimmed.
Summary: Good location with comfy beds, but feels like your parents' or grandparents' house.

Positive: Amazing place especially if you were staying longer than the one night we had, Tatami room would really suit a family stay
Negative: All the info was in Kanji, I think the hostare working on that
Summary: Matsuyama is pretty touristy but this lovely house and kind helpful hosts were our favourite part

Positive: I loved the space it has. The rooms are very clean and fresh. It is actually a whole Japanese house with beautiful details, you really feel like being a local - the owner has a great sense of detail. You can see it in the clean tatami floor. The owner can also be reached at any time which is very nice. The parking space was also a great bonus. Ah, its on walking distance from the Dogo Onsen and has a supermarket around the corner (the owner even has suggestions written down where to eat and go to) - all in all a perfect place should you want to stay in Matsuyama
