Positive: We loved everything about our stay here! The location is very peaceful, the Japanese style room was very prettily decorated and spacious, and the Miyako and her husband were fabulous hosts. They were so friendly and helpful, and made us feel very well cared for. Miyako prepared delicious and generous meals for us that were absolutely beautiful. She was also a huge help with arranging luggage transfer for us as we began our planned hike along the Michinoku trail. And she and her husband offered to drive us to and from Hachinohe station at a very reasonable rate, which is a big help and big time saver because Hachinohe is very spread out.
Negative: When we first arrived in Hachinohe, we tried to reach the property by train and bus but it did not work as planned. It was much better when we accepted the hosts’ offer to drive us to and from the train station!!
Summary: Very gratifying to stay with a warm Japanese family instead of in a bland western hotel!

Positive: Mayuko-san was an exceptional host, she was very warm and welcoming and we felt right at home. Mayuko-san and her sister played shamisen for us which was an amazing experience, one of the highlights of our trip which we won't forget. We were also fortunate enough to share cake with her for her birthday! In the morning Mayuko made us coffee which was very nice ❤️ we wished we had stayed longer than one night. We would highly recommend staying here to other travellers.

Positive: It was an amazing experience, the guesthouse is located in a very beautiful place close to nature. The host was so welcoming, she prepared a dinner for us (asked if we are interested in it) and introduced us to the music, dance and singing from the region. We talked and learned a lot :) the room was big and comfortable, the view and singing of the birds in the morning made the day brighter :)

Positive: Very cosy homelike atmosphere run by a very nice local. Comfortable beds and very roomy. Extremely helpful host who was very accommodating with our requests to see places the next day, drove us around and waited. We had a great time and got the local experience, saw a wonderful traditional dance and string instrument performance at the guest house. Highly recommend also Hachinohe park especially during cherry blossom season. Kushihiki Hachiman shrine, Kabushima shrine and lunch at the Hasshoku centre fish markets where you can shop and cook your own seafood.
Negative: Nothing to dislike it was great

Positive: What a lovely evening - warm comfortable accomodation, traditional music, kabuki and Japanese dinner and breakfast. Myoko and her husband made us feel very welcome and we are grateful to have had a private introduction to Japanese folk songs and music.

Positive: Absolutely lovely and memorable experience. Mayuko-san and her family were so kind and friendly, it really made lifelong memories for our family of four, right down to our 7 year old. She cooked scrumptious dinner, and even accommodated for vegetarians. The shamisen and singing performance was fantastic, and she was even able to arrange last minute Shamisen lessons with her student, which was icing on the cake. The lodge itself is comfortable, clean, and well maintained, with good atmosphere, adequate heating, comfortable futon bedding, and good facilities. The location is also great, close to Tanesashi coast and many apple and fruit farms for fruit picking.

Positive: Wonderful stay with a truly unique experience. The host was lovely and warm, and a professional folk dancer/singer. She gave us a performance which was a highlight of our time in Japan. She also has the most adorable dog, Chiro, who made us laugh and smile.
