Peaceful, romantic rural retreat, this quaint, cosy cottages has woodburner and walks from the door, Heights of Abraham close by.. All on the ground floor.
Open plan living space: With beams.

Terrace with decked veranda, barbecue and garden furniture. Landscaped grounds (shared). Private parking for 1 car. No smoking. Please note: There are drops in the garden. This property has a natural water supply. No children except babes in arms.. Secluded amidst peaceful landscaped gardens and glorious countryside, with lovely views from the terrace, this romantic, attractive detached cottage is a perfect place from which to explore the many attractions of the Derbyshire Dales. Limited streaming is available. The broadband is not consistently strong enough to support streaming and so this may occasionally be unavailable, but surfing the web (Google, social media etc) should always be available.
Set within the grounds of the owner’s home it is only 3 miles from Matlock Bath, with its Heights of Abraham cable car rides, the High Peak Cycle Trail and Cromford Mill. Chatsworth and Haddon Hall are both 7 miles. Alton Towers 20 miles. Cycle hire, golf and riding locally. Shops, café and pub 1 mile.

Summary: Cottage was lovely. Views beautiful. Very peaceful. However the road to the cottage was along a very narrow private country lane, completely unlit. Access from was the main road was very difficult due to very sharp-bended steep incline which was frequently wet and muddy. I damaged my car having to reverse around a very darksteep narrow bend because of oncoming farm traffic which did not give way. Road to cottage full of potholes, not surfaced in places. Summary: The property was in a great, secluded location at the end of an uphill lane through a farm. The outlook to the rear was stunning countryside, with cows and horses grazing close by. It is very close to the village of Cromford and there are plenty of attractions close by - we didn't travel more than 20 minutes in any direction over the four days we were there. The property itself is generally clean, quaint and comfortable with all the amenities you could need. We would stay here again and would not hesitate to recommend it to others. Summary: This was a lovely snug cottage full of all the amenities you need for a week. The owner was very friendly and welcoming. The location of the cottage suited us as we had gone there to walk and were able to start many of them from the cottage itself. The area it is located in is full of history and there are loads of interesting attractions within a half hour drive. Perfect.
