2 Bedroom Cabin in Ellijay

Paradise found overlooking beautiful mountain laurels. Laurel Overlook Lodge is a beautiful 2 bedroom (queen beds and TV's) two bath, 2 story, with loft. (Loft has a single fold out, suitable for a child), dog friendly (no cats please) cabin with a covered porch, small screened porch, lounging deck. The living room offers a wood-burning fireplace, leather furniture and a desk. The dining table is very roomy for 4 people. The covered porch offers a gas grill and dining area, while the hot tub deck has a comfortable lounging area. Inside the fenced yard there is an earthen firepit to enjoy smores and a true crackling fire. PLEASE NOTE CANCELLATION POLICY BELOW.

Summary: Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was somewhat unhappy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Overall, good. The road to get to the cabin was long and rough going up the mountain. The beds are very high and require small step to get into the beds. The downstairs bed is also very squeaky.We had a lot of trouble accessing the TV thru YouTube as we don't have a YouTube account and although NetFlix was available, we weren't able to log in with our credentials.Lastly, the gas stove igniters would continuously run when you lit one of the burners and never shut off until you turned off the burner which was quite annoying. this needs to be repaired if not already done.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We enjoyed every minute of our time at LOL. The drive was exciting, bumpy, & steep- but totally worth it. The cabin was beautiful & so well equipped for people like me & my mom who didn't plan to leave for the whole trip. The grill worked great & we had many meals prepared on it. The kitchen was very well stocked- & we love to cook. They had multiple coffee makers including a Keurig, we had brought our own but we didn't need to unpack it :) They also had a blender, which I don't find often in the cabins I rent. The beds, although high, were very comfortable & stools were provided for getting in & out of them. The best thing about the cabin was how well suited it was for our dogs! The fenced in yard was great, it came with a large crate, with a crate pad, a dog bed that one of our Dachshunds loved, food & water bowls a plenty, & a basket overflowing with toys. Our pups might've had more fun than we did. We would love to come back in the winter to enjoy the hot tub & outdoor fire pit (which we did start & it was easy). All in All out Fourth of July at LOL was wonderful, although far too short lived. We can't wait to get back!

We went hiking a couple of times with our dog (who loved it also) and spent the rest of the time in the hot tub and around the fire pit.

Loved waking up to the sounds of the mountain and creek below. We were able to enjoy the downtown Ellijay, Amicalola State park as well as a drive over to Dahlonega. The cabin was very clean and comfortable to relax in.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Laurel Overlook was a lovely peaceful cabin for us and our three pups. Our pups loved the dog toys, the treats, and the fenced in yard. The cabin was appointed beautifully. It was very clean and comfortable. We all felt at home. The back porch was where we spent most of our time beautiful view of the mountain trees. We could not use the screened in upstairs porch because the dogs do not do multiple steps, so bug spray was a must for me! Although we didn’t use the hot tub area, it was very inviting. The road getting up to the cabin was a bit difficult but we made it without incident. Loved the seclusion! We will definitely be back.

Summary: I'm a little late with the review, but hey it's better late than never for such wonderful cabin. We stayed at the cabin late March. This cabin is made for pet lovers. The fenced yard creates a no stress staying for pet owners. I was pleasantly surprise with all the amenities for pets. The pet bed, toys, blanket, treats, enclosure and gate are provided. It was peaceful, secluded and clean. The enclosed back porch with a mini built in table overlooking a small stream is a plus. We had dinner on the porch every night. We hiked down one day and enjoyed collecting rocks from the stream. Overall it was an amazing stay. We will definitely be back!

One upstairs and one downstairs. the upstairs bedroom has a screened porch too. The bacalony at main level runs full length of the cabin. Beautiful cathedral ceiling. Knotted pine ceiling walls and flooring. Kitchen well equipped with the conveniences of home. Loved the fenced front yard. This was great for our 3 dogs , one lab mix and two toy dogs. The road up to the cabin is dicey at night. We came in after sunset and it was a bit scary. Narrow gravel roads indicative of mountain roads,some steep and drop offs on the sides. You go at a slow pace for sure due to the pot holes ang bumps in the gravel roads. Get your groceries BEFORE you go there. You will not want to 'run' to the store for a butter stick or milk. We took two different days for excursions to Blue Ridge and East Ellijay walking trails. Mainly we stayed put and enjoyed the peace, quiet and songs of the night. We had the windows open, it was just right for us even though it got up to the 90's in the lower leveled towns. Hot Tub is a must do at night. The beds were some of the BEST Sleeping beds I have slept on. I travel and sometimes the beds are not so good. But these mattresses were super comfy, but very supportive. We loved our stay. We will come back for sure.Beautiful area!
