Ideal for guests wanting to enjoy a quiet romantic break, Bolam is peaceful and pretty, and is home to a village pub that serves food and drink, situated just a few hundred yards away from the cottage. There is also a Michelin starred restaurant that is located just 3 miles away too, making this the perfect excuse to enjoy a fabulous three course meal in top quality surroundings.
Perfect for walkers, cyclists and ramblers, with plenty of walks, cycle paths, bridleways and established footpaths that pass through the village and beyond into some of the most picturesque countryside that County Durham has to offer. Taking guests through unspoilt woodland, open fields and fabulous countryside, guests will be able to wander far and wide through some of the many small villages and towns that lie in the surrounding areas including Staindrop, Heighington, Cockfield, Evenwood, Little Newsham and Ingleton.

Summary: The Stables was very cosy and comfortable. We were particularly impressed by the welcome pack - butter, bread, crisps and both a bottle of Prosecco but also sherry! Summary: The Stables is a beautifully renovated cottage with lovely features in it. Perfect if, on a bad-weather day, you wish to stay indoors and rest comfortably. There are plenty of places of all varieties to visit in easy driving distance from the cottage and also local walks in the village locality itself. The care and attention from the owner was fabulous. we felt very well looked after and communicated with. Summary: We very much enjoyed our stay at the stables. Comfortable and spacious with everything that you need. It is an excellent location for walking in the local area without having to get in the car. Pubs of various quality within easy reach. Great base for exploring Teesdale and County Durham. It comes with WiFi but please note it is Rural quality. The permanent residents in the village are striving to improve this situation.
