Positive: Large terraced property, good communication from the owner, plenty of room on both floors, everything clean, beds very comfortable (2 doubles and a twin), fresh bread, tea, coffee and milk provided, a good selection of cereals & muesli, tin of baked beans, tin of chopped tomatoes, in the lounge which has a large wall-mounted tv, there are plenty of DVDs & books, plus games and books for kiddies; the property is conveniently located; within 5-10 mins walk slightly downhill there are 3 mini-marts and a chemist, plus a pub, a charity shop and a large Co-op. Apparently there is also a cafe, but we arrived too late in the day.

Negative: There were crumbs and knife-marks in the spread in the fridge door, definitely off-putting, and a new pack of butter had been cut cleanly in half, with cut ends face-down in a dish, which was a bit odd. And although the full-cream milk bottle was still sealed, as were the two types of yoghurt provided, the bottle of semi-skimmed milk was only half full. The front-door key, accessed from the key-safe outside the front door, needs to be pushed really well in to the lock.

Positive: Really comfortable with plenty of space. Well equiped, all you could need in the kitchen. Plus bread, milk, butter, and a selection of other items in the kitchen. About 15 minutes drive to Hamsterley Forest. Short walk to the supermarket & pub. Would come back.

Positive: The hosts provided a welcome basket which included a range of breakfast options other than the usual cereals. They tried to cater for everyone choices which included fruit and yogurt in addition to milk and bread. So use to taking our own we didn't actually use any of them except the milk.

Negative: Localities of where we could eat.

Summary: Great house, with everything you could need, very comfortable and clean.

Positive: A very comfortable house in a lovely friendly village, I'm definitely booking again. We went to Durham and seaham beach on our visit. There is plenty to see and lots of walks to do.

Positive: Very cosy, clean, well finished house. It had everything we needed and more. Hosts were great at communication and were very friendly. Great location and a huge size, which our son loved. It was extremely child friendly! We will almost certainly come back if we ever want to come over to Durham again.

Negative: The only small thing was that we couldn't get the upstairs TVs to work in any of the rooms, they wouldn't receive any channels - I'm not sure if it was our fault, though.

Summary: Amazing stay, would come again!

Positive: Second time coming back, made us feel special with decorations and hamper and card for my birthday, our anniversary and Valentine’s Day, had a lovely welcoming and when leaving had some problems with the lock box but were quickly reassured that they were just around the corner, house is always spotless, everything you could think of you would need is there, don’t need to take anything except clothes really, even have shower bath gel shampoo conditioner hand wash etc, washing up liquid and cleaning products, every kitchen utensil you can think of and every cup plate pan 🤣, our doggie loves this house as if it were her own 🤣 very dog friendly and because the house is always clean to an exceptional standard our doggie doesn’t ever feel the need to mark her territory, she is a dog who struggle with separation anxiety and this home is the only place she likes, the owners are extremely welcoming and if you ever need anything they are right around the corner, house comes with books, more dvds than name and every board game going, tv in every room and fire stick, so many places to sit and very large dining table to spend quality time with family or friends, heating was on ready for us and made us feel like we had just left and come back home!! 10 star rating if I could!, definitely be back again soon!

Negative: Nothing! They have literally thought about everything but always say you can suggest ideas of future improvements as they want their guests to have the best experience possible
