The Neighborhood:
Known as Australia’s ‘Theme Park Capital’ the Gold Coast is the perfect place to holiday with the kids. Be exhilarated on stomach-dropping rides at Dreamworld and enjoy the character parade at Movie World. Take them for a trip down to Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary to cuddle a koala and feed the kangaroos.
Getting Around:
The resort is ideally located only a short walk to the centre of Surfers Paradise and all of its shops and restaurants and only 2 minutes to the beach, and the added bonus of the new Light Rail station literally at your front doorstep.
Buses and taxis are also close by and readily available.

Summary: The view gets 5 stars. It takes your breath away the moment you walk in the apartment. We loved spending time on the balcony watching the waves and waking up to the sound of the ocean. The location is perfect. A few minutes’ walk from the beach, shops, and restaurants. The building itself is quite old, and the apartment is rather dated, with tired furnishings/decor. It very much reminded me of my grandmother’s apartment in her retirement community in Florida. That said, the place was a good deal for the price and location. My only gripe is this: it seems very odd to NOT provide beach/pool towels, for a property located right on the beach, with a very nice pool just downstairs. What are travelers supposed to do, pack a beach towel in their luggage? It would be very cheap and easy for the owners to provide a couple of beach towels, and the guests would appreciate it very much.

Summary: This unit is in a very good location across from the beach and within walking distance of a number of good choices for meals. It’s also in close proximity to the other beach towns that make up the Gold Coast. We found the unit a bit spare and dated, but probably in keeping with the relative nightly rates. Certainly not on the luxury side of things. One troubling thing was the presence of mold and / or mildew showing in the AC units as well as in the showers. Cleanliness issue for sure. There was also a lot of dust collected in the ceiling vents.
