We rent a large, bright apartment on the ground floor of a farmhouse. In the sleeping corner of the living room you will find a double bed (and a children's bed plus an inflatable two-person mattress), triple bunk beds in the bedroom, a crib and a two-person sofa-bed. The large table in the kitchen offers space for 8 people. The residence is completely equipped and has internet, television etcetera. Please have a look at the images. You can just ask us in case you would have any special requests.
Bicycles and toys can be used for free. About 50 animals live on our farm, most of them are cattle. We make a living from farming and tourism. Visits to the stable, fields or woods are always possible and even welcome. The holiday house is ideal for rest seeking adults, seniors or families with lively children. From Basel: Motorway A2/E35, follow direction Lucerne / Gotthard till exit Rothenburg.
From Zürich: Motorway A4/E41, follow direction Lucerne. When at the Rotsee junction you follow Motorway A2/E35 in the direction of Basel till exit Rothenburg.
From Chiasso: Motorway A2/E35, follow direction Basel till exit Rothenburg.
From exit Rothenburg follow the signposts with direction Beromünster. Stay on the main road for about 500 metres after leaving the village centre of Rothenburg behind, until you see 'Toni's Zoo' and agricultural machinery workshop Meyer. 100 metres after this objects, turn left into side road Wurmistrasse and follow the signposts to Hinderfeld. Follow this street for about 2 kilometres. Shortly BEFORE the buildings of the farmhouse (next to motorway resting place Luzern Neuenkirch) you turn right, into the yard’s approach road. It is marked with a Hinderfeld signpost. After another 300 metres have reached your destiny. Welcome to the Hinderfeld farm!
Directions - This is how you reach us by public transport:
You can take the train from anywhere to Lucerne central station (Hauptbahnhof). Leave the train station towards the bus station: Auto-AG-Rothenburg's lines 50, 51 and 52 will take you to the village of Sandplatten. Once arrived here, walk back for 200 metres along the main street. You will reach a signpost for hikers pointing towards a field track, saying 'Autobahnraststätte'. One kilometre further this dirt road ends at your destiny! Of course we will pick you and your luggage up at the bus station. You are most welcome!

Summary: We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Serenity of the countryside was much welcomed. Kids loved the outdoor fun activities and the walk to the bus-stop did all of us real good. Will recommend anytime!

Summary: This was an amazing place to stay!! We enjoyed the farm animals, and even got to see a baby cow that was only a couple hours old! Our favorite excursion was to Mt Titlis, which is beautiful, and they have lots of activities for families. You definitely need a car to get to this house, and around the area. I’m so glad we decided to stay here!

Summary: We stayed just over two weeks here, and it couldn’t have been better. It’s very much a working farm with cows, goats, chickens, and cats. The location is beautiful surrounded by fields and woods jn the background. The lodging was comfortable and very roomy. Elena greeted us when we arrived and helped out often while we were there. She speaks very good English. (Hans does not speak English and leaves the communication to her.) Our intent was to do day trips from there which we did. Within an hour to an hour and a half driving time is Jungfrau and the other peaks around there in one direction and Bern in another. Plenty to do. I highly recommend this place. And it’s also setup for kids.

Summary: We love nature so we were glad to see the fields, cows, goats, chickens, aand a beautiful typical swiss wood cottage. The house was very spacious and clean. Very close to Luzern. We are in a Europe roadtrip so a car is a must outhere in the farms.

Summary: We had the best time staying in Hans place. They are very friendly and the house is so clean and organized with plenty of rooms and huge kitchen. It felt like home away from home. This place is so peaceful and yet not too far of a drive by car. The children love staying there and they already talked about going back. Very highly recommended and will hopefully be back again one day!

Summary: This place exceeded our expectations. City folks like us were not sure what to expect about living near a farm. Once we got there, I was so happy that I chose this place. The house was very clean! The kitchen was huge and was well equipped with everything you need to cook anything you want. The dining room and table was also very roomy. The bedrooms and the bathroom were also bigger than we expected. What we loved the most was the view of the mountains. This is a great place to stay and not that far from Lucerne and Zurich. We will definitely stay here again.

Summary: We loved our stay at Burri's cottage. We had being traveling for a month already and this is one of the favorite places. ELena speeks English and we had no problem communicate. She was so nice to show us around, including the farm and recently born calfs . The apartment was very clean, nice and spacious. We had all we needed. It also has a small area for a outside breakfast or dinner, which we had and enjoyed the beautiful views of the mountains and the fields. They have a small playground for children, with trampoline. My girls 12 and 15 we're able to go around free and see different domestic animals. Hans let them to pet the goats, he was so nice and able to understand what my 12 years old wanted to see the goats;) even though it was already late and getting dark. The house located near the store, that sells all you may need including prepared restaurant food, 3 minutes by car. we went to see mountain Titlis, which had snow- fascinating views. It was amazing. thank you

Summary: Great place to stay with the family. We comfortably put up 2 adults and 2 teenage boys, and the apartment is so large you can also get lost there! Lots of supplies, huge kitchen with dining room, everything clean. The price is very reasonable and the hosts are very hospitable and always ready to help. Located outside of Luzern, but with easy connection by bus or train. Peaceful and quiet setting of the area, with mountains as the backdrop, was definitely a great experience. No complains or regrets.
