Our Creekside Lodge is definitely the favorite large families & groups looking to explore the New River Valley or just relax together and be one with the mountains. With plenty of room inside & out for entertaining, it's proximity to the creek is unparalleled.
PLEASE NOTE: Most of our Holiday/VT Event pricing is based on 8+ guests. Our regular pricing is based only on 4 guests. Please inquire if you have questions!!
The Creekside is fully-furnished and has central heat & air. Bed linens & bath towels are provided. The full kitchen includes a dishwasher, coffee maker, microwave, dishes, pots & pans, and utensils. The indoor dining room has a great view of the creek and seats 8. There is additional seating in the game room for 4. The front living room overlooks the deck/creek and the back living area has a gas fireplace & satellite TV/DVD and large sectional sofa & chair. WiFi access is limited (meaning basic internet browsing & checking emails can usually be expected but live streaming/downloading may not work well due to satellite internet data capabilities & is the WiFi in general can be effected by weather, etc.)
The Creekside will sleep up to 12 comfortably. Sleeping arrangements include a queen bed in the master bedroom (attached bath), a queen and twin/twin bunk in bedroom 2, and a double/twin bunk and a twin bed in bedroom 3 (share a bath). Please note that our bunk beds are made to sleep adults - no child-sized beds here! :) There is also a pull-out sofa in the living area (double bed).
While the inside is terrific, the outdoor features are what really make the Creekside Lodge so special. The 1000 sq ft deck overlooking the creek is perfect for outdoor meals and has plenty of seating for gathering, too. While there are 2 other rental cabins on the property, each has it's own charcoal grill and fire ring and with over a half-mile of creek frontage, so there is plenty of stream for you to explore.

Summary: We had a great time, kayaking, fishing. Family time was great. The house was great very peaceful. The weather was very hot, but the water was cool. Would stay again💜

Summary: Our group really enjoyed our stay here for a long weekend of river activities and the VT football game. The cabin was big and clean with plenty of space for everyone. We grilled and hung out on the big porch a lot. The only downside was the WiFi didn't really work at the cabin itself. We knew going in we wouldn't really have service but we were under the impression the WiFi would at least work in the cabin for texting and checking emails. We had to walk out to the main parking area to get any WiFi service. It wasn't a huge deal but was annoying when trying to plan meetups with other friends. Would definitely stay here again, though.

Summary: When our son was attending Virginia Tech, we needed a place to accomodate our large family, and we fell in love with The Creekside Lodge!! Being that it is right on the water, includes use of the tubes so we could tube all week on the creek, and the fact that it is so remote... we couldn't help but come back again and again. Our family of 10 fit comfortably in the lodge and we have also had guests stay in their tents on the huge lawn by the firepit. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful and willing to fix any small issues/problems that come up. When we stayed the first time, their was not cell phone service or WIFI available but this time, they had WIFI available...however our family prefers to disconnect from the real world and go off the grid for this precious family time together!!! We all sleep so peacefully when we are at Creekside and have TONS of funny stories and memories each time we stay. I would recommend this Retreat to anyone and everyone. Enjoy!!

Summary: Creekside Lodge was a great place for a get-away meetup! Three of us came from different directions and the location was great. A quiet setting along Walker Creek could not have been better and the lodge offered a clean and comfortable stay. The only thing that kept this from being a five-star rating was a series of issues that seem to have resulted from a neglect of common maintenance. The internet did not work the whole time we were there and although I suggested from the very start that it was not a Wi-Fi problem but a problem with obtaining an IP address it was not resolved before we left. After several attempts at changing out wireless equipment they finally agreed that it was an internet problem and not a Wi-Fi issue. Ordinarily, this would not have been a necessity for a get-away however there was no cell service most of the time at the location and internet would have provided a connection to the outside world and an opportunity to check out the area online. Other issues were the shower in the master bath was not functioning properly, the coffee maker needed to be replaced as it could not be programmed and took over 30 minutes to brew manually, and the ice maker in the refrigerator had an "out of order" sign on it. The guest information book had restaurant suggestions and the one we chose the first night turned out to be out of business. The alternative we chose was Palisades which was a great choice. We were able to live with the issues, but to achieve a five star rating, they need attention. I would consider a second chance based upon the location.

Summary: Some college friends and I chose this cabin because it was located between us. We couldn't have picked a better place to relax and unwind. The cabin was much bigger than we'd anticipated, and it was well-equipped. The furniture was comfortable, the cabin was clean, and there was nothing to be desired. (If we had been there in warmer weather, I would have missed having a washing machine and dryer to wash towels and bathing suits.) We found the location to be beautiful, but you would definitely need a car to get around. We went three times in three days to the nearby Palisades restaurant. We are planning to return again as soon as possible.

Summary: My family and I have stayed at Walker Creek Retreat for over a decade! We have come alone, for quiet retreat and relaxation, and with friends when we wanted to share our slice of heaven! As business owners, we have also taken clients for fishing and college football in the fall. Everyone who has ever visited with us loves it as much as we do! We return time and again, and always leave rested, refreshed and feeling a closer connection to nature. Sharing the beauty of the area with my children is such a treat!

Summary: Having made many trips to this facility over the last 10 years it is obvious that it meets all of my needs and those of my fellow fishermen. Dining at the Palisades is always a treat in the evening, and the J&J Grocery provides a real flavor for country cooking. Very comfortable and quiet setting. The fishing is excellent.
