This peaceful, five-acre gated estate is located in the heart of San Antonio. Hundreds of surrounding oak trees will make you feel like you are in the Texas Hill Country. The estate is family friendly and includes a swimming pool, tennis / pickleball court, basketball court, pool table, bocce ball set and playscape. Whether you are looking for a relaxing retreat or plenty of room to let the kids run, play, and swim, The Ambassador House and its sprawling grounds will fit anyone's needs.
A luxurious mid-century modern home with 5,000 square feet, The Ambassador House is the main house on the estate and comfortably sleeps up to 12 persons. An additional 6 people can stay in the guest house (details below). The Ambassador House is beautifully furnished in mid-century modern and transitional style with modern artwork. The master suite includes 1 king bed, coffee bar, sitting area, walk in closet, and private bath. The other 2 bedrooms include 2 queen beds each and a Jack and Jill bath. The study accommodates two more persons on a twin size daybed and a pull out twin bed, and the study has its own full bath. The Ambassador House also includes a formal living area, a dining room with seating for 8, a fully equipped kitchen with a breakfast nook for 6, and game room with a TV, bar, and pool table. Every room in the house has sweeping views of natural oak trees and wildlife.
Also available for rent on the estate is the Garden House. It is a 1,800 square foot guest house with similar mid-century modern and transitional décor. The Garden House accommodates 6 people, has a spacious living area with a TV, a dinning area that seats 6, and a fully equipped kitchen. The master bedroom includes 1 king bed and en suite bath, and the guest room includes 1 queen bed and a shared bath. A second living area includes a card table, bar, and queen size sofa bed. The Garden House boasts equally impressive views of the surrounding oaks trees with two calming water features. From the peaceful back deck, you can enjoy a distant view of the San Antonio downtown skyline. We want your experience to be exceptional. A maintenance/grounds keeper, who resides on the estate, will be available to assist in making your stay as comfortable as possible.

Summary: The tennis court and pool were great activities. Comfortable rooms and beds. The house and grounds were fun to explore! The wildlife was amazing - so fun to see the deer, fox, squirrels, and clumsy kittens playing around the yard.

Summary: I rented it for my family and my cousins family. The property is beautiful with LOTS of big bucks, does, and fawns that we saw everyday. We enjoyed the pool outside and the pool table. The architecture of the home is really neat. Lots of updates but maintaining some of the original design. Main bedroom is at the opposite end of the house from the living area and is very quiet. It’s just as beautiful in person. The bathroom does face the front of the property where the driveway and garden house are so I wouldn’t enjoy a tub bath with the blinds open. Never had any concerns to talk with the owner or Edgar. He was available if we needed him but we had all the privacy that we needed. I would love to go again and stay longer,

Summary: This property was beautiful. You feel like you are out away from the city, but in reality it right in the middle. Everything is so close, and easy to get to but this property had everything needed. I highly recommend.

Summary: Very cool property with lots of deer! I’m sure in the 50s this was the coolest house around. But! It’s pretty rundown. The pool definitely was dirty. Most of us didn’t even swim because it was so merky. Vacuum doesn’t work which is a bummer because critters are around so if you want to clean up the kitchen after cooking… the vacuum isn’t an option. kitchen is not very well stocked with basic cook wear and what is there is very old and looks gross. Bbq didn’t come with bbq cookware so we had to use whatever we could find in the kitchen. One of 3 lounge chairs at the pool is completely broken. Ice machine is broken so you’ll have to buy your own. Overall the house is very cool and looks amazing on the website but it definitely it is very understocked in usable items. Not a lot of extra linens or blankets, the laundry facility is gross and has missing buttons and has a bunch of dead bugs in it… also my pillow after removing the case had a huge dead spider in it. It accommodated the family but I wouldn’t even consider staying again. Please put some love into the ambassador house! Because it would be top notch if it was just given some love.
