Located in the beautiful Hudson Valley in the LaGrange/Hopewell Junction area of Dutchess County, this 20-acre country estate, on 20 flat acres of what was a former horse farm and reclaimed barn, is an idyllic getaway just 70 miles north of New York City. This estate is a 5 bedroom home with modern amenities, in what was a reclaimed barn, has a pool, a barn and separate garage. This house is in the beautiful Covered Bridge neighborhood and conveniently located right off the Taconic Parkway, a few miles from Vassar College and just 75 miles north of NYC, making it perfect as either a family home or a weekend getaway. It's a large family house ideal for gathering with a newly renovated kitchen and dining area, with state of the art appliances (Viking range/oven, Sub-Zero fridge) and a new dining table and banquette that can seat up to 15 easily. Two decks look out to an expansive lawn and pool and are perfect for summer barbeques. There are 3 separate bedroom suites (each with a bathroom) and two large kids bedrooms making the house the perfect family home. There is also a home office with high-speed internet perfect for remote work or school for the whole family. The house can easily sleep up to 12 guests, ideally comprised of 6 adults (3 couples, each with an en suite bedroom/bathroom) and young children who enjoy sleeping together in a large room with twin beds and bunk beds. One can enjoy the use of the large swimming pool with diving board and also a house golf cart to explore the property! Covid-safety measures and cleaning practices have been implemented so that every surface has been disinfected.
Located just 9 Miles from the Vassar College campus, the location makes this home perfect for graduation week or Parents' Weekend. Marist College, the Culinary Institute of America (CIA) and the historic Roosevelt Mansion is just a few miles away.
The Hudson River is a 20 minute drive and the boomtown of Beacon NY and modern art museum, DIA Beacon, is also a 20 minute drive down the Taconic State Parkway.
Rhinebeck and Millbrook are within a half an hour's drive.
This family-owned property is very private and relaxing. 20 serene acres - have a softball game in the yard. A 56" flat screen TV is equipped with HBO, SHOWTIME and STARZ movie channels as well as many sports packages. Free WIFI as well.
The heated pool has a small diving board and the upstairs rooms are wide open and perfect for lots of kids. We also provide several gaming systems as well as the use of the family golf cart.
It's serene year-round. Thanksgiving is such a beautiful time in the Hudson Valley and the trees that surround the property will be gorgeous fall colors.
Ideal for the owners would be families who can make extended stays. Possibly taking the house for the summer months or the fall or spring semester.
A very smart, responsive and capable property manager and handyman are managing the property and can answer any questions and handle any repairs or issues that might come up.
The Storm King Art Center is nearby and the new Auberge Wildflower Farm hotel and restaurant are wonderful additions to the Hudson Valley for a beautiful farm-to-table meal. Splashdown Beach is a water park with fun slides and rides and a wave pool, located just 20 minutes away for summer fun.
The Dutchess County Fair is always the last week of August. And there are many NY county fairs that occur throughout the summer along with music festivals. The beautiful Mohonk Inn is nearby.

Summary: This is our 2nd time at this oasis in the Hudson Valley. The house is perfect for a family. Our family consisted of 6 adults and 2 children age 6. There is plenty of room for everyone to spread out. The immaculate pool is the highlight of the house. The golf cart is s close second. There are also games and an arcade game. The house is very clean and the kitchen is well stocked The owner is very responsive and always available for any issues. Highly recommend.

Summary: We stayed for a week at the end of July. This was our second summer staying here, we love this property so much. We were a group of 6 adults, 5 kids (ages 10 and under) and a dog, and it was just the right amount of space. The owner is so friendly and very responsive to texts. The property is very private and just a short drive from a grocery store and many restaurants. The house is huge and comfortably furnished. The kids love having the upstairs all to themselves. There are more than enough toys and games to keep them entertained on a rainy day or when they need a break from the sun. We enjoyed family board games almost every night, and the arcade game provided lots of entertainment too. Outdoors, the pool and golf cart were big hits and we also had fun playing wiffle ball in the huge lawn. If you are looking for a local hiking trail, we enjoyed the Dutchess Rail Trail, it’s a wide paved trail with lots of shade, dog friendly, and very scenic. I highly recommend this property, it’s perfect for a family getaway. We would love to stay again in the future.

Summary: We are 2 families from the city that wanted to take our young children to the country for the long 4th of July weekend for some fresh air and swimming. This property was perfect. The house large and spacious. The kitchen is gorgeous and well stocked for us to cook for our 4 kids and 4 adults throughout the weekend. Anything we needed, the market was close by. The pool was clean and well used by our group, as the weather was hot! The golf cart was a hit with the kids. Coming back into a well air conditioned house was a godsend. Ling was so communicative throughout the weekend and was so helpful. Can't recommend this property enough! Thank you for renting to us!

Summary: We had a great stay with 4 adults, 6 kids, and one grandparent. The house is packed with play-areas and games for kids - huge outdoor space with fun toys - and a great pool that everyone enjoyed. It's a beautiful custom house with ultra-modern appliances. Highly recommended if you're in the area with a large group

Summary: We rented this house for our extended family of 6 adults, (2) 5 year olds and a small dog. I have rented numerous houses and this is far and away the best I have ever stayed in. Let me elaborate: The house was immaculate. Everything was exactly as pictured and presented. There was so much room for everyone. The kitchen is beautiful and a pleasure to cook in. The rooms were large and the beds were very comfortable. And the toys for the children…there are so many no need to bring your own. If you enjoy vintage arcade games and shooting hoops indoors this house has it. Now to the pool-it too was clean with pool noodles. I asked if there were floats for the 5 year olds ( their request) and the owner said she would be sure to get 2 for them. When we arrived, to the children’s delight there were 2 floats! The poolside bathroom was a real plus with small children. That is indicative of the kind of person the owner is. Thoughtful, kind and very responsive. She checked in with me numerous times to ensure I didn’t need anything or have any questions. Whenever I messaged her she responded very quickly. And last but not least is the golf cart to ride around the 20 acres. If you’re lucky as you drive around you may see a bunny or a gopher/ groundhog (not sure which it was). In summary this is an oasis that I high recommend.

Summary: We thoroughly enjoyed our week and wished we could have stayed longer! The home is beautiful, very clean, and plenty of space. We had 6 adults (3 couples) and 5 children ages 9 and younger and the layout was perfect for us. The kids were thrilled with the 3rd floor - there were so many toys and lots of space for them to play. The arcade game and golf cart were also a huge hit. The pool is very well maintained and the water was a perfect temperature, we were able to swim every day. Our dog and kids loved running around the huge yard. The property is private yet still close to a grocery store and restaurants, it’s a great location. The owner is also very kind and responsive. We had one or two very minor issues and she responded to my texts immediately. I can’t say enough good things about this property. We are already thinking about dates to return next summer!

Summary: This house if fabulous and the owner is wonderful to deal with. The newly renovated kitchen is amazing. The three master suites suited our family perfectly. The kids loved the large bunk room upstairs and the abundance of toys. The pool is wonderful, as well. All in all, the house exceeded our expectations and the owner was very responsive. We will be back!

Summary: We loved everything about our stay. The house was excellent. The layout was perfect for children and adults and the house was very well stocked. The grounds were amazing and the use of the gold cart was a bonus! The pool area was very well maintained and the pool itself was gorgeous and the perfect temperature. The house is very well located and is just a few minutes drive to a supermarket, coffee shop, bakery and wine shop. Everything is on your doorstep. Communication with the owner was efficient and helpful. We are really looking forward to staying here again.

Summary: This was the perfect family house as we gathered for my daughter’s wedding nearby. Grandkids loved the incredibly equipped 3rd floor, the video games, the pool, and riding the golf cart (with a parent). Fireflies galore—what a novelty since we don’t have them on the West coast! The comfort of this house was exceptional! And the owner was such a delight!
