This Lake home is the perfect getaway in the city. If you're looking to be close to everything, but still have a private escape, then this is it.
This home is set on nine wooded acres with lots of privacy. It has beautiful views of the lake, pond, wetlands, and abundant wildlife. Quick freeway access and just minutes to both downtown Minneapolis (15 min) and St. Paul (10 min). It is literally a one of a kind property. This warm and inviting home is perfect to play or rest.
Five Bedrooms, three bathrooms, a beautifully appointed kitchen, and open living room and dining area make this home excellent for large groups or multiple families. The yard is large enough for endless games and activities. The deck has lots of seating to enjoy a beverage and the view. And two outdoor fire pits to enjoy on a cool night. Inside, cozy up to watch a movie by the fireplace on cool summer nights or snowy winter days.
In the summer, enjoy swimming and playing in the lake. The large permanent dock is perfect for swimming or catching panfish off of. Enjoy Paddleboards or the paddleboat. Or bring your boat and enjoy the chain of (4) St. Paul lakes. In the winter, ice skating, snowshoeing, and ice fishing are all popular on the lake.
Everyone is welcome in this home -- it's where others find rest, peace, relaxation, fun and a place to bring their loved ones.
We are not currently hosting weddings at our home.
Note to renters interested in hosting larger groups (groom's dinners, etc): Based on past unfortunate experiences, we have a slightly higher rate for big groups. We also require rental of a portable toilet (less than $200 in our area) for the day of the event. Feel free to inquire with any questions.

Summary: This is the ideal place to stay if you and your kids love to fish and swim. The owner was always available to answer any questions and very prompt. The house is amazing and large enough for lots of people to stay and not feel cramped. My grandkids didn't want to leave. It is so close to shopping and grocery stores. I would highly recommend staying here.

Summary: We had an amazing time. Skip was fantastic to work with and made the whole process a breeze. Their home is beautiful and the property was so well kept. There are so many communal and private spaces that it works for everyone. You are so close to everything you want from the cities but feel like you are on your own private piece of northern MN. Summary: This is our second year staying at this amazingly beautiful lake house. Perfectly suited for larger groups like ours. There was ample room but also space to spread out if alone time was needed. The lake, deck, privacy and views were amazing. Close to shopping, groceries and downtown. The ideal spot. Skip our host was truly wonderful to work with. He was responsive if we had question and checked in to ensure all was well. We were truly blessed to have found Skip and Amy’s place. We have amazing family memories to celebrate and remember.

Summary: It’s not easy to find vacation rental properties that are close to the city and still feel like an escape, but this place turned out to be exactly what we were hoping for!! My husband owns a small business, so we rented the property to host a summer gathering for his employees and significant others. The layout of the property was very accommodating for this type of gathering. Skip was an absolute pleasure to work with and was easily reachable to answer any questions that came up throughout the day. We’ll be planning to rent this place again with our family!! It was such an awesome experience!

Summary: The setting on lake provided many hours of fun activities on the water (paddle boarding, kayaking, fishing, etc. ), meals on the deck and time around the fire pit. We felt like we were on a lake up north with the convenience of being in the city. The fitness room was a bonus for many of the guests. The main floor living and open concept to help us to accommodate someone in a wheelchair. Thank you!

Summary: The Johnson family’s lake home provided a perfect setting for our annual summer vacation. Host Skip Johnson was attentive throughout our booking and rental week. The house was welcoming to our group of 6 adults and 7 children. The main floor’s open kitchen and living area made a favorite gathering space for meals, card games, and watching the summer Olympics. The beds and bedroom spaces were very comfortable. According to our sons, the house was equipped with great kitchen appliances and outdoor grills for cooking! Our grandchildren enjoyed most meals at the picnic table on the spacious deck while the adults ate at the dining room’s large trestle table. The second living space on the lower level with its accompanying bedrooms and bath gave our large family room to spread out indoors. Our sons and daughter-in-laws believed the indoor gym was a super amenity to their week’s stay. The lake setting was pristine and peaceful. From the sandy beach to the sturdy and spacious dock, our days started at the shore. The provided paddle boat and boards were used everyday. The secluded, wooded location was country-in-feel, yet just minutes from city shopping and restaurants. The lake’s serene aura saw our family observing beautiful Minnesota wildlife everyday…from herons, loons, seagulls, and eagles fishing to a mother deer and fawn feeding on the property. The beautifully groomed landscape around the home’s front yard, the pergola’s swing and Solo fire pit provides a perfect background to evening time. We felt fortunate to find such a perfect place for making family memories.
