Summary: I rented this property for 7 days, this place wasn’t cheap but was supposed to be a comfortable space while we were moving out of the IL area. Day 1. I had to ask for the code to get into the house and didn’t receive it until 8PM. Check in was at 2:30 Arrival: Lawn had not been mowed in over two weeks-which made it difficult for my dogs to go potty, hedges were over grown, leaving an appearance that this place was unkept. Inside the house, the floors were dirty, there was a dirty dinner plate and fork left inside of a draw upstairs, the furniture had stains on it, the carpet upstairs had not been vacuumed, the walls and baseboards had food stains on them, the linen was not clean, the internet never worked and there were no trash bags… The cops also showed up to the property and requested to see the rental agreement…we didn’t know why, but had to rush to an event and didn’t get to speak with him much, but just thought it was weird. Day 2. I reached out to the host and sent her pictures of everything and she gave me the reasons why everything was in the state it was in…but no changes happened, so we waited to see if the changes would occur. Day 3-6. The cops showed up again and asked for the rental agreement and stated the VRBO host was going against the city ordinance even renting the property to us. No changes to anything that we addressed. A lot of excuses. We left 2 nights early because of the work we had to do just to live in a clean environment. DO NOT STAY HERE.

Summary: We arrived just after 3:30 on Friday to drop our things off so we could go to our friend’s house. First impression was that the home was clean. THAT IMPRESSION WAS WRONG. When we returned to the home hours later after our kids bedtime, we found not one bed with dirty sheets but ALL 5 BEDS had dirty sheets, as well as the entire linen closest had wadded up dirty sheets. It was then more than 2 hours before anyone could go to sleep because everything needed to be washed. The carpets were also very dirty with debris and stains from who knows what. I messaged the owner after I finished up laundry and let her know our findings. Including that the internet did not work. Her response was less than appropriate. She essentially pointed the finger at me for not reaching out when we checked in. What!! Then ghosted us the rest of the weekend. We decided to leave a day early but I can assure you the house was left in better condition than it was rented to us. All sheets in the house have been washed and carpets were vacuumed before we left. This could be an amazing place to stay but the owners apparently want the bare minimum done to it between renters. Avoid at all cost!

Summary: House is very roomy but VERY sparsely furnished. It’s a 5 bedroom with seating for 4 people. The only seating in the entire house is a sofa and chair. The tiny dining room table seats 4 and no other seating for eating. The entire basement had nothing but a twin bed in it. The house was very poorly cleaned. I had to buy cleaning supplies to clean before letting our toddler down. There were beds that did not have clean linens. The home really is a great space if it were properly furnished and cleaned.

Summary: This was the perfect house to accommodate our family while visiting relatives in many other surrounding towns. The neighborhood was perfect for walking our dogs. Many friendly neighbors. The host was very responsive. Overall we had a fantastic stay. We will definitely be back!
