Summary: Itโ€™s a nice property in the countryside. Close to St Cyprien and all the Dordogne chรขteaux and river activities. Great pool although the cold month of May did not warm it up. Hosts were excellent.

Summary: One of the nicer gites I've rented in the area and I've been visiting the area for about 15 years. Clean, very roomy and well-equipped. The surrounding area is very rural but quite nice. The pool is a great bonus. My only complaint would be that its not at all near the circle on the VRBO map. I expected it to be much closer to St Cyprien.

Summary: We (older couple with a dog) had a pleasant stay in this house / barn beautiful located on top of a hill. Surrouded by green slopes covered with forests the rural position is excellent to visit the beautiful countryside.

Summary: Lovely gรฎte in a rural location about 10 minutes from St Cyprien. Very well equipped and in a lovely setting - to be honest I donโ€™t think the photos etc do it justice. Great pool which is very well managed and maintained surrounded by plenty of space to sit/lounge. Along with several parasols for when shade is much appreciated. Friendly and responsive owners both very helpful. They live next door but are not intrusive in any way but happy to help or provide information if you want it. Lots of lovely places to visit within very easy reach.

Summary: Property was exactly as described. It is in a very rural area. We enjoyed picking fresh figs and apples and hearing the cows mooing in the morning. It is near St Cyprien and was a great home base. We went to the Saturday market in Sarlot, took a great cooking class at the Dordogne cooking school, visited the famous caves, and had a wonderful time visiting the many interesting places in the area. Tim is British so communication was easy and he was always happy to help us with restaurant reservations and check on days and times when things were open. Corrine doesnโ€™t speak a lot of English, but was always available to help us out, since she was right next door and we always managed to understand each other. Although Tim and Corinne live next door, they always gave us our privacy. We were welcomed with a gift of a bottle of wine and there is a wine cooler with bottles of wine at discounted prices for guests - Tim has a wine shop in Les Eyzies. The kitchen was well equipped and we really appreciated having WIFI. All in all a wonderful stay.

Summary: A lovely, well equipped gite in a quiet rural setting, close to a farm. Fabulous clean pool with views over surrounding countryside. Great for the kids. Friendly and helpful owners on site but not at all intrusive. Close to beautiful towns including St Cyprient (Great Sunday market), Sarlat and the stunning Beynac-et-Cazenac. Perfect.

Summary: This gite exceeded our expectations, the best gite we have yet experienced especially in terms of equipment provided and quality of finish. The photos and description on the web just do not do it justice! The pool was exceptional - large, deep and warm - much closer to property than expected with plenty of loungers and parasols provided. Lovely patio/garden with good views - morning and evening. Lots of local info provided and welcoming pack.

Summary: La Bergerie offers exactly "What it says on the Tin". An idyllic base to explore the extravaganza of sights the Dordogne region has to offer. The cottage has everything one needs from a well appointed kitchen that included a separate wine fridge, to the use of a secluded pool that would obviously be very popular in the summer holiday season. With a well stocked supermarket and good village restaurant within ten minutes by car one can enjoy the options of lazy barbecues, good cheeses and wine, a good read and siesta chez La Bergerie, or visit perhaps Sarlat or Dom for the day. Your owner hosts ensure the property is maintained to a high standard and we frankly were hardly aware that they live next door. The visitors book bears testament to holidays enjoyed by both couples and families. Town market days are always worth a visit and we were able to enjoy the one at St Cyprien although the price of coffee out on the street was exorbitant not helped by the rate of sterling/euro exchange. We flew from Southampton to Bergerac with Flybe that worked well for us, but make sure you check out the full cost of hiring a car which is essential for this holiday venue. We found the luxury of a spacious car for four adults from Avis was more than the cottage rental! La Bergerie is situated a little off the beaten track adjacent to a farm but the joining instructions do find their way there past a kennel of excellent looking hunting bloodhounds and rabbit pens. Brush up your french and enjoy France in one of it's nicer areas.

Summary: In all the time that we have spent on holiday in France - last 25 years- this was the first time that we had a change of bed linen after the first week and you truly will not want for any home comforts as Tim and Corrine have thought of everything. The only negative thing would be that the lighting in the bedrooms is not as bright as it would be at home - a complaint from the female section of my party - personally it was Ok. The location is set high in the valley and is very peaceful without being to isolated - a few neighbours within view, it is within a short car ride of many of the beauties of the Dordogne. Nothing was to much trouble for Tim and Corrine and I can recommend that you try some of the delights of their wine shop. We had a wonderful time and have no hesitation in recommending this property we certainly would return at some time in the future. Ray and Gwen.
