Summary: The cabin and grounds are as advertised and this place is perfect if you are wanting to getaway from everyone and everything. Outdoors are extremely peaceful and quiet and you really do feel like you're in nature, but less than 10 minutes from the interstate and 30 minutes from a larger city with regular stores, restaurants, and etc for supply runs. The hosts were very responsive with questions / concerns during our stay and provided detailed information prior to arrival for check in procedures and etc. Due to my own rush, and poor planning, we were not able to fully enjoy this stay as much as we had planned. Hopefully, my lessons can help others planning to visit this area. Personal notes: 1. I failed to notice in the listing that there was no AC other than the window unit in the main bedroom as well as another window ac in the bunkhouse. I assume this is not usually an issue, but we arrived on one of the hottest days of the year so far and as a result, our first night was very warm (82º at the thermostat, warmer in the loft) which made sleeping difficult. The AC did help cool, but also made the bedroom very humid the first night as well. Thankfully, the next two nights were much cooler and we were very comfortable. 2. Another planning mistake on my part. Mosquitos. These are not just a few mosquitos. These are swarms of mosquitos that seem to be out all day long, so lots of bug spray is a must if you plan to spend any time outside and even then, they are relentless. Due to our limited time at the cabin, we didn't spend as much time hiking as planned, but the mosquitos also played into that decision. Plan ahead for this if the outdoor time is a big part of your stay. 3. At times we did have issues with the internet and streaming, but eventually got it to work most of the time. If being connected and having high speed internet is critical, for your stay, it may be hit or miss. Obviously, staying at a remote cabin, this is a small inconvenience most of the time. 4. We had little to no cell phone coverage at the cabin on AT&T phones, so plan ahead for that as well if it's important. If you can use wifi calling and the internet is working, then you should still be able to receive and make calls. Again, all of my issues were my fault and I take credit for that. I would stay here again in the future if my mission was slightly different and wouldn't hesitate to recommend the place to anyone looking for this type of vacation.

Summary: My girlfriend and I loved staying here. The cabin was very neat and clean. It has a rustic family cabin vibe similar to the great memories of my families north woods cabin. The trails and river were awesome. Our dog loved running the trails and riding in the canoe. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway.

Summary: This cabin had everything we needed. It was clean and comfortable. We quickly felt at home here. We absolutely loved the property. We hiked the trails, sat by the river, had bon-fires, fired up the charcoal grill and even took the canoe out. Our dogs were able to run off leash all week, they loved the woods and river. We enjoyed bird watching and playing card games in the screened in porch. We brought up our boat and had a great time fishing sturgeon, Island and sand lakes. We hiked a both Banning and Jay Cooke State parks. We swam at the Moose lake beach. This is such a beautiful area with so much nature and adventure. Our family would definitely stay here again.

Summary: We had a great time at this beautiful property. If you go in the spring bring 4 wheel drive! The driveway is dirt and we would not have bad it up to the cabin without it.
