This lovingly restored Queenslander on a 400 ac working cattle property sits on a rise overlooking Mt Brisbane and is on the outskirts of the picturesque township of Somerset Dam Village. Only 1.5 hours from Brisbane It is centrally located between the townships of Kilcoy, Toogoolawah and Esk and the main attraction of the area is the Somerset Dam Spit 3 kms distant which abounds with day troopers, boaties, skiers, campers but our verandah bath is a work of art and pleasure.. We are not a wedding venue even though it looks like it could be. We have no licence for such events. This is a place for relaxation with five of your friends or relatives. No events are allowed. The house is recently restored and needs respectful guests who value this exceptional house and contents. The decor is set in the early 20th century and is a result of collecting parents and grandparents styled furniture. The rotunda finished in 2023 completes the intended ideal of being able to view the panorama from all parts of a compass. come and visit.

Summary: Although we loved the serenity of the property I just have a couple of feedback comments. Firstly it would be good if there was a way to have flatscreens on most of the windows. It was stifling hot and we couldn’t keep windows open at night because of the insects. The ac only cooled that one room. The bed in bedroom closest to kitchen fell apart and we couldn’t get a response from the owner so we moved the mattress to the living room. Apart from that we loved it

Summary: The property is perfectly located for waterskiing on the dam and is so peaceful to come home to. It is very well fitted out and the hosts were so helpful. I would love to bring my fellow artists for an artist retreat stay.

Summary: What an amazing little farm stay we had. We arrived and the owners directions were perfect. As we drove up the half bitumen road to the house on the hill we were met with cows grazing with their calves and a bubbling brook. The house was exactly as described and depicted. With a warm welcome from the owners on the white board and a quick walk through of the house everything was available for use. Instructions for the stove clearly on the fridge was great too. The place was alive with bellbirds and others singing to us. Our week end was relaxing and refreshing. The homestead isn’t far from the boat ramp which is a bonus for my fishing loving family. All in all we had a fantastic week end. Thanks so much. If you’re looking for a place to enjoy bush walking, bird watching, boating, or just lazing around the house enjoying some fresh air this place is a must.
