Summary: We had a very good time in Gabriellas and Andreas house. The silence and loneliness is exciting. The house is beautiful, equipped with everything you need. A present basket with wine, fruits, rice (...) welcomes you at your arrival. The interior is very nice and fits to the surrounding of the house. You will find a place to sit and relax in every corner of the area, which is inconceivably big and interesting to discover. It is just a 5-10 minutes walk to the beach, which gives you an absolute loneliness. During our time we saw now other persons at "our" beach. Not far away you can go to the supermarket (Muravera) or buy sausage and wine in a traditional shop. On the way to Muravera you find a dairy, where you can buy ricotta and pecorino, which tastes fantastic. In a 20-30 minutes walk from the house you can find Marina Gio, a really nice restaurant with delicious fish, meat and pizza. At all the time Gabriella is available by mobile phone and helps with every (!!) question you have. We enjoyed the days at the beach and the calm evenings at the house, where you can eat something from the barbecue and relax with a glass of wine at the the long table or near a fireplace. Do not forget your mosquito repellents for outside (no mosquitos in the evening). Inside the house there are no mosquitos, because doors and windows are protected. All in all it was a beautiful experience and we are definitely planning to come back. Thanks to Gabriella and Andrea!

Summary: Gabriella and Andrea were waiting to greet us when we arrived slightly earlier than expected, and made us feel very welcome. They were available by phone during the week and were punctual and flexible about our departure time. The villa is as described - basic but creatively decorated, nice new bathrooms (good showers), and plenty of different spaces to relax in around inside and outside - including two hammocks in the garden. It got quite hot at midday and at times during the night but was never unbearable. They had provided a welcome basket of fruit, wine, olives and bread so we didn't need to shop the first day and there were basic ingredients such as spices already available in the house. The supermarket is 7 km away so a car is necessary although there are two mountain bikes available. There are good possibilities for cycling. There are some signposted trails with maps that are worth looking up on the internet beforehand. Otherwise tracks and paths are not well marked and there are places where there were gates and no access, even along the coast. It was a 10 minute walk to the beach down a sandy track. The beach is several kilometres long and mostly deserted apart from tourists at the two far ends. The beach is clean and the sand is fine although it gets very hot to walk on during the day apart from the strip nearest the sea. The sea in July was a very pleasant temperature for swimming and shallow for a long distance so suitable for beginner swimmers. Two days were calm, one day there were small waves and two days there was a strong wind. We used our own paddle boards. We enjoyed walking 45 minutes along the beach to the restaurant Marina Gio (or 25 minutes along the road - probably only a few minutes by car) although it is advisable to reserve a table if you want a table outside as it is very popular. A torch is recommended for walking back along the beach except during full moon. We recommend this location if you want peace and quiet and enjoy running on the beach, swimming, cycling and paddle boarding (when there is not too much wind and bring your own). It is also a good place to come if you have a dog as the garden is fenced and the beach is dog-friendly. Tip: Don't forget to bring plenty of insect repellent for around the house and a sturdy parasol for the beach!
