Welcome to Harthside Hideway!
Enjoy our home located in the Adirondack State park, just a short walk to the private White Lake. This two story Adirondack style home, features three bedrooms and two full baths. Hardwood floors throughout and a large stone gas fireplace in the spacious living room located on a scenic tree-lined dead end street. The home is equipped with an outdoor security system as well.
Upon arrival you will walk into the side entry which leads you into the the foyer with a custom made hall tree to drop your belongings and kick off your shoes. The kitchen is well appointed with a large peninsula and is fully stocked with all the amenities of home (pots, pans, cookware, utensils - down to the corkscrew). Large country style dining room table which will accommodate up to six guests. The living room boasts a floor to ceiling stone gas fireplace - with a push of a button on the remote you can set the tone for comfort and relaxation. Sit in the comfy lounge couches, put your feet up and watch a show on the flat screen TV or open up the grey cabinet and enjoy a game or two. Step out the front door and be greeted to a large front deck with comfortable lounge style seating as well as two rocking chairs and a porch swing. Enjoy the comfort of the day with a beverage of choice, a good book, or socialize with family and friends.
There is also a full tub/shower bath on the first floor as well as two bedrooms. The first bedroom is equipped with two full size beds, closet, ceiling fan and flat screen TV. The second bedroom is a mirror image and boasts two twin beds, which can be converted into a king (upon request). Open the back door to more seating and a flat top grill. Step down the path to a large backyard and firepit to enjoy making some smores! (there is stacked firewood for your convenience). Head upstairs to the master bedroom, which has a king size bed, walk in closet and master bath with shower. This room is also equipped with ceiling fan and flat screen TV. This house has WiFi thermostats and central air conditioning. The bedrooms each have USB outlet ports. There is also a water purification system built in and stackable washer and dryer.
Harthside Hideaway is a short walk to the private White Lake, which you will have access to use via a lanyard which will be supplied to you upon your arrival. White Lake Inn Bar and Restaurant is down the road, stop in for a drink or some wings, or listen to a local band. This house is situated on a dead end quiet neighborhood. Ideal for riding bikes, taking a walk or a run. There are numerous hiking trails within Adirondack Park, or you may want to play golf at one of the many nearby courses. White water rafting, boat, kayak and canoe rentals are nearby. Just 5 minutes from Otter Lake, 10 minutes to Boonville and 15 minutes to Old Forge attractions including, water park, restaurants, museums, shopping, and much more!

Summary: Our stay was great from start to finish. The pictures do not do the house justice. It is beautiful! The proximity to everything we were looking for was top notch and the house had all we needed. Helen was very responsive and attentive to our requests and was very easy to communicate with. We very much look forward to returning next year.

Summary: The pictures posted do not do this home justice. It is absolutely gorgeous! We had a wonderful week with our family of 4. Everyone had plenty of space and all the beds were super comfortable! The kids were thrilled to each have their own rooms with their own tv’s. They were living the life of luxury! Cooking breakfast on the Blackstone grill was a hit. We grilled on it as well. It was a nice feature. The fire pit was well designed and we were able to enjoy having s’mores by the fire. Every morning we sat on the front porch while sipping our coffee. The couch was comfortable on the front porch as well to lay and read a book to relax. We visited the White Lake Beach almost every day. We went to Water Safari and took advantage of the siesta pass. They let you in the park at 3pm the first day until close and then you get the entire next day. Looking forward to our visit next year.

Summary: Our group had a wonderful stay in this lovely home. The home was spotless and secure, and so pretty. The kitchen is spacious and beautiful and has everything we needed as we like to cook on our vacations.. The living room/dining room area is large and welcoming--there are even games in the cabinet, TV (though we never turned it on) and a gas fireplace for times of year that aren't as hot as this summer. The bedrooms and baths were very nice as well. The porch is large and has a swing and lovely places to sit or lie with a book or with a group of friends--and there's a great firepit with Adirondack chairs in the back of the house. The lot is wooded, pretty and peaceful. The walk to the beach was easily doable and led to a pristine beach area and White Lake which was perfect for swimming and kayaking. It was easy to contact people with the few little questions that came up--all in all a perfect, memorable and fun stay was had by all!

Summary: The Hathaway House worked excellent for our family vacation. We had enough beds to sleep our family. We put the kids with the infant and 3 year old in the master bedroom which had plenty of room for a play n pak. The living, dining and kitchen was spacious and we loved it. The kitchen was well equipped. We did not use the lanyard for the beach activities but we did walk to it. We also ate at the White lake restaurant which was pleasant to eat and see the Lake. The house was between Boonville and Old Forge which was the perfect location for us. The kids did use the firepit every night and it is a quiet area which I enjoyed. We did have a problem with water pressure but we were able to work around it. We had to make sure there was only one person taking a shower at a time. I did have to check a bag with sheets, and towels since they were not furnished. We had a wonderful time during our stay and the house was awesome for our needs. Thank you!

Summary: We were a little apprehensive booking this place since there were no reviews from previous renters. Then we found out we were going to be the first renters. Let us assure you this was exactly what we were looking for!! Our family of 4 adults and two children (ages 4 and 2) loved it!! Truly a hideaway in the Adirondacks!! Private and absolutely beautiful setting. The home is brand new and was completely appointed with everything we needed for our week there. Especially the kitchen which we used to make some fabulous breakfasts and dinners. Even had a well seasoned cast iron pan and a crockpot for our corned beef hash. Beautiful spacious great room. Loved the Master Suite!! Comfortable beds throughout. Loved the fire pit for late evening S’mores dessert’s. Especially since they have all the firewood you’ll need!! Comfy chairs to relax in as well. We packed up our wagons and headed to the private beach on White Lake for the 4th of July. Totally shocked to find a beautiful clean sandy beach. We didn’t need our water shoes haha. Even the port a potty is clean!! Spent a few days at the beach and stopped by White Inn as well which is just a short walk. Didn’t eat there since we wanted to enjoy the house. Old Forge and Inlet are just a short drive away. We made a few trips to both. The Water Safari water park is a must for families with kids!! Hiked Bald Mountain which was simply amazing!! Bring good hiking shoes or boots though. Also just about a 25 minute drive away. Boonville is about 21 minutes away and has a Tops Market and stores for any of you needs. Nice scenic drive anywhere you go. Kudos to Helen and Rich for having such a wonderful place for others enjoy!! You have to see this place in person. The pictures don’t do it justice! Highly recommended by the Handzlik’s
